Sighing in relief as I pushed my way through the last bit of bushes, I stepped out of the forest and looked up at my house. I knew I was different, i even smelled different. What am I now? How is my family going to act?
Fighting the urge to turn and run back into the forest, I slowly made my way up to the back steps. With my hand on the door knob, I let out a slow and steady breath, bracing myself for what was to come.
Pushing the door open, I let out the breath I hadn't known I was holding when I realized nobody was up yet. locking the door behind myself, I tip-toed up the stairs and into my room.
Laying in my bed, I played the scenes over and over in my head trying to figure out exactly what has happened. Covering my face with my hand, I groaned. What have I gotten myself into? I should have just stayed home and..
A giggle broke me from my inward bitching. Sitting straight up in bed, I glanced around. Not seeing anyone, I shook my head at my jumpiness. 'Damn I need some sleep' I muttered to myself.
"Yea and maybe try a shower, you look like shit, my dear."
Falling off of the bed, I popped my head up and looked to where the voice came from.
leaning against my dresser was a tall, thin girl who had her thick dark hair pulled into a messy pile on top of her head, smiling at me.
"Who the hell are you?" I whisper yelled.
"Well, I'm rose." She said with a duh look on her face.
"Okay, rose. What the fuck are you doing in my room!!!??"
Shaking her finger at me, she walked over to my couch and sprawled across it. "What manners you have. You really don't get it do you?"
"No. I really don't get why some girl is in my room bitching about manners."
Not even bothering to open her eyes and look at me, she smiled. "I do not bitch, darling. If you must know, it is your fault I am here anyways."
Gawking, I stood and sat down on my bed. "Nope. I don't know you." I said after crossing my arms.
Sighing, she sat up and looked at me."Must I spell it out for you? You called me here. I must thank you, however, I was quite sick of the dreary fellow with the haunting eyes. He was always in such a fowl mood. It was actually he who killed me."
Eyes buldging, I forgot how to breath. She knew that guy? wait a minute.. killed her? Oh dear lord...shes..dead? No way man. This just isn't right.
Jumping up from my bed, I slid my window open and jumped. Adrenalin pumping through me, I ran through the forest until my body let me stop. 'A fucking ghost?' I questioned myself out loud.
Anger pulsed through me. How had I gotten myself in such a fucked up situation?
Leaning my head against a tree, I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself.
A tap on my shoulder made me trip and fall backwards with a shriek.
"Oh drats! I did not mean to scare you dear. I couldn't just stand here and let you wallow." An older man with small lensed glasses, a balding head and a plump little belly said with a frown.
Pushing myself backwards in the dirt, I tried toform the words but my mouth wouldnt work with my brain. "Who...wha...uhh...w..ww..."
With his hands on his hips, he stared down at me, his thick mustache barely covering his smile. "Oh dear. Please get up off the ground. I am sorry I frightened you." Sticking his hand out, his smile grew in size. "My name is Byron. I owe you quite a bit of thank yous for getting me away from that nasty man. He was always so rude!"
