So, you know those make believe stories? The ones meant to keep misbehaving children in line.
About men turning into beasts under the full moons light, or about old women, with big gnarly noses standing around a cauldron as they make potions from children's toes and eyes of newts and whatnot; or maybe, people who have to drink the blood of young, beautiful virgins and avoid the light of day- lest they be turned to ashes. Vampires, witches and werewolves right? The big three.
It's fine though, don't worry yourself over old folktales, fairytales, just stories. You won't lose any sleep because you know these creatures aren't real. You're sure of it. You're so sure that when you feel a chill down your spine, catch a shadow moving in your peripheral or hear the occasional tap tap tap on your bedroom window, you're not scared. Rational thinking, science, can put your fears to bed; it tucks you safely under the sheets and kisses your brow, staying by your side until sleep takes you. You're safe.
But that's wrong. They're real; everything is real and there is more to it than you could ever dream to imagine.
