Lucy's POV

I walked over to pick up my clothes and change into them. I wore a dark blue shirt with sleeves that flared out at the bottom of the sleeve. And I put on jean shorts with a belt, so I could put on my Celestial keys. I wore socks and knee high brown boots.
I looked at my reflection and decided to keep my hair down, after brushing it.
'All set! Time to find a job! And avoid people from the guild...' I thought.
I walked outside to my favorite shops.
'Since I always go to these places, maybe they will give me a job!'
But the day went on, and I found no jobs I wanted. I mean, the best job they had was being a street cleaner. So I'd rather not.
I sighed.
'Who knew finding a normal job could be so difficult?!'
I went to a small cafe for lunch and dinner.
I trudged back to my apartment. As I passed the front desk, the mean landlady yelled at me.
"Hey you! Your rent is due tomorrow evening! Or else I'll kick you out!!!!"
"Alright..." I sighed, dejectedly.
"Don't sass me ya brat!" She yelled back.

The next morning, I woke myself up with a bath, again. I put on a dark blue dress lined with gold colored cloth and matching blue shorts. I wore my boots again. Then I tied up my hair into a low ponytail.
"Today, I'm going to find a job! I will!!! And I have to..." I trailed off.
"No negative thinking, Lucy. Let's go!"
I quickly grabbed my bag before I ran out of my room.
"Don't you dare forget to pay your rent!" The landlady screeched.
"Don't worry!" I called back.
For the rest of the day I worried. Nobody would hire me they didn't have a job I wanted. I want to be an author, but I have nothing to start with- no publishing companies or anything!
I sighed.
'There's no use! I'll just go back and pack up my stuff...' I thought. As I walked back to my apartment, I heard a muffled cry.
'Someone might be in trouble!' I thought as I ran towards the noise.
When I arrived at a dark alley, I saw a little girl being attacked by two large men.
"Hiyah! Lucy... KICK!!!" I kicked both men away. "Run little girl!" I yelled as I pulled out a Celestial key. "Open, gate of the lion: Leo!"
"Yes, my lady?"
"Blast those guys till they regret picking on a little girl.
"You got it!" Leo winked at me.
He used his celestial powers to defeat the two guys.
"Yeah! Thanks Leo!"
"No problem..." he faded back to the spirit world.
"Thank you miss!" I heard a small voice say.
I turned around to see the girl still standing there.
"I thought I told you to run. Oh well. Where are your parents?"
"They're at home, which is where I'm going right now."
"Ok, be safe!"
"Thank you Miss..."
"Lucy!"
"Thank you Miss Lucy!" The girl said before vanishing.
'Yay! The first time I felt useful in days!" I thought as I walked to my apartment.
I packed my most important things in a huge suitcase, box, or bag. The rest were the things that belong to the room and were here before I got here. Then I neatened everything up.
'Now I say goodbye to another one of my homes... First Fairy Tail. Now my apartment.' I said in my head.
I walked down to the front desk.
"Ma'am. I'm checking out of my apartment room."
"Tch. 'Sa 'bout time! See ya!" The landlady cackled.
I walked out sadly.
'Now where am I going to stay... It's almost time for the sun to go down, and I have nowhere to sleep!'
I walked to the edge of Magnolia, where there was a forest. Then I remembered that I said I would be at the cherry blossom tree every Friday. And today is..... THURSDAY! So if I can go to the tree, I can sleep there!
'Great plan Lucy!'
I ran over the the west edge of town where the lone cherry blossom tree was located.
'Now I need to find somewhere to sleep...
I, Lucy Heartfilia, have no outdoor survival knowledge at all.'
So I went the base of a weeping willow tree that was about half a mile away from the cherry blossom tree. I chose to sleep there because I would be very exposed if I slept under the lone cherry blossom tree on a hill. And the weeping willow was the closest tree.
I took out a pillow and blanket I had packed, and used them to sleep. Luckily, it was a quiet, warmish night.
'Please, I hope no one steals my stuff, finds me, other than the few nice people from Fairy Tail, or hurts me....'
