Whenever I looked at the sky I thought 'oh it's just a sky, look a cloud!' And so on. When I turned twelve, my family took me to the white rocks. It's a place outside of town that is just plain out rocks. Now as a twelve year old my first though was 'ew' we went out made a campfire and hung out. Some of the other kids went to explore so I went too. By myself. I got to the highest rock and sat down. I looked at all the trees, then the sunset caught my eye.my eyes grew ten times as big. I saw how the sunset corresponded with the blue and orange. How the clouds created another world. I sat there and watched it change turning into a whole other land where the colors rule. When it turned dark, I drifted off a little. I don't know what happened but I opened my eyes and looked up and saw a star directly above me. I stared at it for a while. I watched the others stars and they were at least moving a little. But this star did not move. I studied that star for a month. I found out it only moved if the phase of the moon is different. So I named it moonstar. My moonstar. Now, when I look at the sky I stare. I imagine the balls of gas miles and miles away just shining. Shooting stars may fly past but my favorite star will always be moonstar. My moonstar.
