May I Have this Dance?

I will dance.

I will dance as the wind

rips through my clothes

as it spins my head round and round,

as it lifts me into the sky

and carries me away.

I will dance.

I will dance as the earth

quakes beneath me

shaking my knees,

rattling my soul,

unsettling the sad

that was so deeply buried

in my bones.

I will dance.

I will dance through the night

as the light from the moon

guides the lonely hearts

through yet another maze

all in the name of loveand of the broken.

I will dance.

I will dance.

I will dance.

I will dance through the rain,

the storms that tear

through the sky.

I will tilt my head to the sky

and I will let the drops of water

run

down

my face.

It is the sky's turn to mourn.

So I will dance in the rain,

and splash through the puddles

of anguish

and I will yell,

I will dare the world,

if only it would

drown me.
