Chapter 1- A Party and A Park
"Niall is you best friend..." Jessie Simmons told herself for the tenth time since leaving her house. She was walking down the street headed towards Starbucks to meet up with her best friends, Harry Styles, Demi Weber and Niall Horan. They were all gonna meet up with their other friend, Cora Jamison and her boyfriend Darren Criss later.
It was a week after Harry's 18th Birthday party. Jessie had been thinking about it all week, considering that, in a drunken state, her and Niall had declare their love for each other and may have snogged a bit. Jessie thought that maybe Niall didn't remember or didn't mean it but she had meant it more that anything.
Since Niall's Birthday party a couple of months ago, where thay had ended up dancing really, really close, Jessie had realised her feelings towards Niall were more than friendship. Though she wasn't exactly sure if Niall's feelings were mutual. For about a month after the party everytime someone mentioned the party, Jessie and Niall both blushed furiously. So obviously Niall remembered it, even thought bothe of them were extremely drunk at the time.
Jessie had been dreading and looking forward to meeting at Starbucks because Harry was definitely going to mention his party. This was the first time they were all meeting up all together. Of course, Jessie and Niall had met up on seperate occasions and Demi and Jessie as well but only Demi had met up with Harry because they were dating.
Jessie was looking forward to this meeting because she wanted to see Niall's reaction when the party was metioned, so she would be able to tell if he remembered or not. She was dreding it because if Niall didnt remember she would want to run home and cry.
SHe walked into Starbucks and saw Niall waving to her from the corner of the room. She smiled widely whe she made contact with his piecing blue eyes that made her heart melt and that smile... made her weak at the knees.
She walked over and saw that Demi and Harry were looking at each other with eyes of love and adoration. They both looked up quickly when Jessie arrived at the table and said hello. AFter that they went back to looking.
Jessie was happy for them. They had hooked up at Jessie's birthday last April and had been dating ever since. It's the longest relationship either of them had been in, ever.
Niall stood up and gave Jessie one of his famous Horan Hugs. It was warm and comforting, especially when he buried his face into her neck. Jessie looked down at the table to see coffees in front of Demi and Harry but none in front of Niall.
"Aren't you having anything??" Jessie asked.
"I was waiting for you but they couldn't. Not that they're drinking any of it." Niall answered grinning.
Jessie laughed, Niall was the only person who could make her laugh like that. Like properly laugh.
They walked over to the counter and Niall stepped forward to order. Jessie smiled, as she remembered the first time they walked into Starbucks together and found out they had the same order. A vanilla frappucino and a chocolate chunk cookie. Occasionally one of them would have a chocolate frappucino or a muffin, but not very often.
They paid and retrieved their drinks and food before returning back to the table. When they arrived, Demi and Harry were snogging.
"Get a room!!!" Niall said and Jessie laughed again. They break apart and Harry places an arm around Demi's shoulder.
"Well sorry, Mr Snog-At-My-Birthday-Party. Or should I say, Mr and Mrs Mr Snog-At-My-Birthday-Party." Harry replied, smirking at th both of them. Jessie blushed furiously and looked over at Niall. He had suddenly found the floor super interesting, but she saw that his ears had turned form the usual rosy pick to a deep crimson. Jessie sighed with relief, he remembered.
"Well then," Jessie said, triumphantly, thinking of a great comeback, "We should all you Mr Flirt-With-Another-Girl and Mrs Cat-Fight." SHe swore she saw steam coming out of Demi's ears, she was fuming. Harry glanced at her, nervously, and glared at Jessie.
At Harry's party, another girl from school started flirting with him, surprisingly (and unsurprisingly) he flirted back, being extremely drunk. Demi, always being an angry person when drunk, literally lunged at thegirl. Jessie swore, if Liam and Darren hadn't been there, one of them (or both of them) would end up in hospital.
Liam was Jessie's ex-boyfriend, the most reent one, to be accurate. He was really understanding. All of Jessie's other boyfriends didn't want Jessie being friends wit Niall, so she brok up with them first . Niall's friendship was more imprtant than a boyfriend. They had best friends since birth and he had always been there for her. When Jessie and Liam broke up it was mutual decision. This is because Jessie realised her feelings towards Niall and, apparently, Liam had feelings for Evie, one of Jessie's other freinds. This fact was true because now Liam and Evie were dating.
Harry huffed, "Forget I said anything..."
"Thought so!!" Jessie said smugly and Niall burst out laughing. Harry started whispering in Demi's ear, which seemed to make her calm down.

They finished thier drinks in silence and then walked to the park to meet up eith Cora and Darren. Everyone kind of itched Niall and Jessie because the two couples went on romantic walks. Jessie and Niall both started walking over to their oak tree. They always went there, it was the tallest tree in the park and they both liked to climb up it and get away from the world below.
When they were as high as they could go, they sat on a branch each that were parallel to each other. It was silent at first but Niall broke the silence.
"Listen Jess, about Harry's party-" he began but Jessie cut him off.
"Let's just forget about it, okay??"
"But I don't want to forget about it..." Niall said looking at the ground.
"Wh-What??" Jessie asked, slightly confused but her hope rising.
"I meant every word Jess. I love you..." He looked up at her.
"I meant every word too..." she blushed, looking down. She felt Niall move onto the branch next to her and lift her chin up, so she would look at him.
When Jessie, made contact with his eyes, she was shocked about how close his face was to hers. All she could see was the beautiful,piercing orbs that were his eyes. NIall leaned in slowly and kissed her softly. At first, she was too shocked todo anything but then she started to kiss him back. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she could feel his snake around her waist and pull her closer.
Th kiss didn't last long because soon the heard a couple of cheers and whistlescoming from the bottom of the tree. They broke apart and looked down to see their friends looking up at them.
Jessie laughed and said, "Caught in the act!!"
Niall laughed too but whispered in her ear, "Meet me at the treehouse later..."
She giggled and they both started climbing down the tree.
