"What?" He heard himself mutter, followed by an incomprehensible cacophony of noises he wasn't sure came from him.
Enthralled in what felt like a mental whirlwind, and overwhelmed by confusing emotions and the dull ache in the back of his head, the boy shuffled forward slowly. Gradually regaining consciousness, he became aware of the support he was receiving from foreign individuals.
His bewilderment only grew with the progression of his journey. Attempting to shake what felt like a dark mist from his senses, he felt a quickly growing pressure in his back. Seconds later he realized he had been pushed. This revalation came to him when his body collided with leather.
A seat. A car seat, he apprehended. Still trying to shake the cloud from his vision and comprehend his surroundings, he stretched a tentative arm into the empty space in front of him. He jumped slightly when his fingers brushed against cold metal. Again, as if he was blind, he reached forward in an attempt to find the cold steel once more. His hand clasped a bar. As he sat in silence desperately trying to understand the atmosphere he was surrounded by, a loud popping noise engulfed his hearing. An engine, he deduced. Coming to the verdict that he was in a vehicle of some sort, he continued to piece together the bits of information he had percieved previously. A police car, he concluded, after recalling the metal bars his hand was still loosely encompassing.
"Why am I here?" He thought to himself.
Slowly running his thumb across the pole it was resting against, he pondered his uncertainty. The overwhelming sense of anguish he had been unconsciously experiencing began to surface as recollection of the event that had antecedently unfolded unwillingly transpired in his memory.
Dread choked him as he drowned in agony. Desperately, he tried to abolish the intrusive memories, but to no avail. Dismally, he accepted the reality of his situation and followed the barely illuminated scenery on the exterior of his mobile penitentiary, refusing to consider what might happen next.
