The next day I went to the headquarters instead of the library. I wanted to talk to Gregory about the security ideas Wes and I came up with last night. And the possibility of extra hands helping.

I was making my way to his office when I saw Corinth flirting with some guy. When she caught my eye she waved goodbye to him and walked towards me. She was grinning so wide her music note tattoo crinkled with her eyes.

"Hey." I greeted. "Boyfriend of yours?"

Corinth opened her mouth to respond but instead sucked in a quick breath like she'd been sucker punched. Soon a heart pierced with an arrow appeared in the hollow of her neck right between her collarbones. She sighed.

"18 years and I'm still not use to that." She said shaking her head and checking out her new tattoo. "Tattoos like these make it really hard to say 'no I'm not in love.'"

I raised an eyebrow. "In love?"

Corinth rolled her eyes but smiled. She began telling me about Donny a musician she worked with and how he made her feel like a hot shining light bulb.

"My parents wanted me to stay in Cunning so they never fully supported my music dream." She explained. "Donny 100% gets it though. We can talk about anything and everything and never get bored. I'm telling you Cecil when you find a guy like that don't let him go."

Her words reminded me of Wes. After yesterday I couldn't believe I had wanted to never talk to him again. Whenever we talked, we really talked. It never felt like a waste of words. There never was a dull moment with him.

Corinth and I chatted a little while longer until we both had to go do our jobs. Gregory called me in and I sat down and pitched him my ideas. He didn't allow me to have an assistant but told me I could use any technology I wanted to help. Then he praised me for the voice activated security lock idea. All you had to do was call out a code word and the name of the drawer and it unlocked and opened. Upped the security but kept the same old look. A small smile played on my lips. That had been Wes' idea. I made a mental note to thank him later.

We spent the rest of the day discerning what pieces we need to order and what size, etc. Then he let me go and told me the parts will be at the library by the time I get there tomorrow. I left his office and took the tram home.

By the time I got home Wes was standing by my door almost completely concealed by the shadows. "Is this our new thing now?" I asked trying not to smile. "Me coming home to you waiting?"

Wes let out a small scoff as I unlocked the door and we both went inside.
