Mark felt like he was being strangled. He could swear that he felt his face turning purple from lack of oxygen. "I uh," he began, looking down at the small man pulling the bowtie around his neck. "I think it's a little too tight," he choked out. "Hmm, perhaps it is," Vincent loosened it an inch. Exhaling an audible sigh of relief, Mark felt the blood rush to his face again, although this time for a very different reason.
After he had glanced down, he saw that a third member had joined this fitting session, much to his embarrassment. So far though, the tailor hasn't noticed, or at least hadn't acknowledged it. Just then, he stepped right in front of Mark, pressing so close there was no way he didn't feel it.
As Mark tried to squirm away, Vincent grabbed his shoulders. "Stay still," he said, and Mark had no choice but to obey. The next few minutes were very uncomfortable, both physically and emotionally, but he got through it by reminding himself of what was soon to come. And no, it wasn't just him.
Dani felt like someone was doing construction work on his skull. Groaning, he blinked his eyes open, immediately greeted by a piercing light. After blinking for a few seconds, he realized it was just the sun. The ground was hard beneath his back, and as he struggled to sit up, he felt something squish under his palm. Shit, he thought. Literally, it was dog shit.
The urgent chime of a bell sounded out nearby, and Dani tried to wipe his hand on the grass beside the sidewalk where he sat. When he had gotten most of it off, he lay back down and closed his eyes again, hoping to start the morning on a better note. Unfortunately, that would not be the case.
A few seconds later, a middle aged woman rounded the corner, speeding rapidly down the sidewalk on her bicycle. Dani realized this when the bike ran over his outstretched hand, knocking the lady off and then causing the bike to fall sideways onto his face. It was at this point he realized that shit wasn't, in fact, the worst start to a day that he could have.Mark rolled his eyes as Dani sheepishly grinned at him as he walked to the passenger side of the car. Opening the door, he slid inside, but after seeing the visible anger on his fiancés face, he remained silent the whole drive home. Mark slammed the car door shut as soon as they pulled into the driveway and stormed into the house, not waiting around for Dani.
He only realized when he got the the front door that he had left the key in the car, which he could see the other man walking up with. He refused to look at him as Dani unlocked the door, and shoved his way past to get inside. "Mark," Dani began, but Mark just shook his head and went to their room, clearly uninterested in Dani's apology.
After a couple hours, Dani knocked on the door. "Mark, please just let me in. Stop being childish about this." "Dani you imbecile, it's unlocked." Dani tried the knob and the door swung open, revealing Mark laying in the bed, typing on his phone. Dani started to say something, but got cut off.
"And how dare you call me childish. Some nerve you have. You're the one who disappeared last night to get blasted off your ass and do god knows what else. You don't even bother to come home or give me a call or anything. Not until you call me from the hospital of all places. Do you know how worried I was? You promised you'd stop this shit. It's time to grow up."
The whole time Dani had been on the verge of interrupting, but decided to keep his mouth shut. Now, he knew that his lover was right. "Listen, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say." "Dani, we're fucking supposed to be married tomorrow. Were you gonna pull this again tonight? Wake up on someone's lawn three hours after the wedding? I don't think I can do this anymore. Dani, I love you, but it's just too much. I can't be your lover anymore, but I'll always be your brother."
"M-mark, what are you saying?" Dani could barely get the words out as he choked back sobs. "You know what I'm saying," was all Mark said, his voices pained, as he turned away. Dani slowly stepped out of the room, completely in shock. They were supposed to be lovers for life, he thought. How could Mark just throw it all away like this?
He went outside, despite the rain pelting down. He would rather not sulk in that house. He needed to get away and clear his head, figure out what to do. So far he had no idea where he would go, he just knew he couldn't stay here.
