Okay I know this one may not apply to all girls!
If the girl is not a shy person, she will get one of her friends to ask you or one your your friends if you like her.
That's if she has the guts.
But if she asks you who you like and you aren't saying, that's suspicious and she might know you like her.
So if she does just take that chance and say, "you."
If it's a text and she asks you if you like anyone say, "yeah, you"
Then if she rejects you, you can be like, "I meant yeah, you?"
It works.
Me personally would not have the courage to ask anybody to ask him or his friends if he liked me. I'm the more of sit back and stalk until it gets out of hand. Too far is never too far... evil laugh I'm weird don't judge guys.
