The TV suddenly turn back on. Footage of all the infected running through cities were shown on the screen. These things who were human beings to start off with are now known as 'Zombies' by the media. The police and military were urging people to stay indoors at all costs.

From overhead i heard a loud thump and a crash of broken glass. An explosion of footsteps rang from the hallway, and several screams cut the air. I then thought of Molly out in the city with those things. If zombies were running around rampaging the streets uncontained by the police, what chance would she really have? i need to reach her somehow i thought. No landline and i have lost my mobile. She could be on her way back i thought but no way of contact to make sure. But then i remembered there was nothing really keeping me here after all.

I changed into some jogging bottoms and a vest top and grab a sandwhich and a bottle of water. After i had eaten, i realized that a few things in here could come in handy at some point. I take a shotgun and a back pack full of clothes, food and water and get ready to head out.

I head into the abandoned street. The street lights flicker giving a eerie glow all around. the power is unstable and it seems too quiet.

I head number 7 where Mr Haney an antique dealer lives. I knock on the door but notice it is ajar. No light escapes the small opening. There is static from the TV and the radio in the air. Mr Haney always kept his shop open until late. Molly mentioned him only a few times but that was to warn me to try to avoid him at all costs. Mr Haney is quite old around his 70's and on the one occasion i did meet him he didn't seem to take too kindly to people being in his apartment without his permission.

However, i enter anyways as rules change when you have a virus attack right behind you!

I eased open the door and stepped inside. The helicopters outside thrusted the lights through the blinds, creating a striped pattern across the wall of the apartment.

I stood in the living room where it had Victorian styled furniture. I then catch my eye on an old music player with its large funnel shaped horn and the hand crank which spun the record. i thought about how this was made in the virus free time, a much simpler time.

I then check the bedroom and find a well kept room in perfect order like it hasn't been touched. A wardrobe full of ironed clothes hung up or folded into neat piles, a large steamer trunk with photos that have turned gray and brown form the age of them, and a scrapbook with a top hat. I open the draws next to the bed and find a rifle and ammunition. I take both and leave the room returning the living room.
