I wake up before you
The marmalade sunrise fills up the room,
I realized the hotel blinds were red, not maroon
You're still wrapped up in the same colored sheets,
but you'll be awake soon,
I noticed you look so comfortable engrossed in your dreams,
You look so vulnerable, but not weak,
I get out out of bed,
To write the words filling my head,
Before they have time to spread,
Cause you see, I've left some things unsaid,
It's the new feelings I've come to dread, I couldn't love you,
I'm much too young,
You reminded me you're so wise, and I'm still high strung,
I've tried to act like I was numb,
I never felt I was good enough,
But we've both seen those times that were tough,
We must be the same, because this is where we both ended up
Just you and I, in room 21
