I flew through the air, my friend Darkstalker at my side.  We were going to explore one of the forests.
"So what were they fighting about today?" I asked, referring to Foeslayer and Arctic.
"The usual stuff.  'This hawk is terrible!  In the Ice kingdom we had polar bears!'  'Well go back there if you really miss those furry beasts!'"  Darkstalker replied. "I wish they wouldn't argue so loud.  Whiteout doesn't like it."
"Do you think this berry is edible?" I showed him a small, blue berry.  We had landed by now and we were poking around in the bushes.
"I dunno.  Maybe.  But why would you need to eat it?  You could just eat a hawk or, look at that, a squirrel!" Darkstalker shrugged.
"Any new visions?" I asked.
"Oh!  Yes!  One that's really, really important!"
"Ooh, tell me!"
Big mistake.
"It was about a dragon.  Her name is Clearsight and when she comes into my life, everything will be better.  And, when we grow up, we're gonna be soulmates!" Darkstalker explained excitedly.  I choked.  I'd had a vision of this.  Darkstalker was going to kick me to the curb without a care for me.  He only cared about Clearsight now.  I had hoped it was only a nightmare, because I didn't want to be left alone.  Also, I kind of liked Darkstalker.  Like, more than-friends-like.  If Clearsight really did come, I'd lose my only chance to be with Darkstalker.
"You're quiet.  What's wrong?" Darkstalker asked.  I glared at him, hoping he might get the message.
"Nothing," I said out loud.
~A few years later, after Clearsight meets Darkstalker~
"Fireworks!  True love and happiness for the rest of our lives!"
"You didn't prepare actual fireworks, did you?"
I wanted to be happy for them.  My best friend found the soulmate he's been talking about for years now!  Yay!  But I couldn't.  I'm actually not sure when the last time I smiled was.  I let Darkstalker explain all the futures of Clearsight he'd seen, because it made him happy.  I had hoped that maybe, he might notice that I HADN'T SMILED FOR YEARS.  I felt like there was a gaping hole where my heart was supposed to be, oozing poison into my soul.  Someday I'd snap.  I could only hope it was soon, for I was getting extremely tired of feeling neglected and restrained.  Someday...

~When Fathom comes~
     "You're Fathom, I assume?" I asked.
"Um, yeah?  How did you know?  What'd they tell you?!" Fathom worried.
"Relax!  They didn't tell me anything bad about you.  I happen to be able to read minds," I explained, pointing at the silver, teardrop scales by my eyes.
"O-oh.  Ok," Fathom replied.  Clearsight and Darkstalker walked up.  Clearsight's face lit up when she saw Fathom.
"Fathom!" she cried, wings spread to embrace him. "You're here!"
Indigo wanted nothing about that.
"Hey!" Darkstalker roared. "Unnecessary!"
I growled, baring my teeth.  I was growing more and more unstable.  I knew I'd snap soon.
"I forgot we hadn't actually met yet..." Clearsight trailed off.  A line from my visions resurfaced, one I'm sure Clearsight had had as well.
The Seawing brings death.  The Seawing brings salvation.  Don't let him come.  He must come, or all is lost.
And then I snapped.  I don't know why it was then, but that's when I did.  The darkness where my heart should've been finally consumed my whole being.  I roared angrily.  Before I knew what was happening, I had Clearsight pinned to the ground with a dagger to her throat.  Goodness knows where I got that.  Everyone stared.
"Shadow, what are you doing!?" Darkstalker cried.  I could barely talk, but I managed.
"I'm doing what I should have done ages ago!  I'm putting an end to your silly dreams!  That's all you ever talked about!  Clearsight this, Clearsight that!  I let you do it because it made you happy.  You never paused a second to think how I must feel!  Well, I'll tell you!  I felt unwanted.  Angry.  Hurt.  I cared for you, but you never cared for me!  Have you noticed that I haven't smiled for YEARS?!  No!  Because you only care about ONE DRAGON!  I loved you Darkstalker.  I wanted you to be mine.  That's gone now.  Everything is gone.  I don't 'care', I kill!" I snarled.  Darkstalker's eyes widened and he backed up, along with the Seawings.  Something cold and metallic slipped onto my wrist.  I dropped the dagger and looked down.
"How long have you known, you mewling quim?" I growled, smiling insanely.
"Long enough.  I saw that you'd snap sometime, in all the timelines I was in.  I didn't know why, but I always kept this on me, just in case," Clearsight said.
"Ooh, animus-touched.  I'm going to fall asleep, aren't I?  It's crafted very well, Darkstalker.  I hope you enjoy your life with Clearsight," I smiled maniacally (basically like Loki, guys). "But you haven't seen the last of me."
Everything went dark.  I felt talons reach out to grab me as my legs gave out.  I heard voices, but they were all jumbled and far away.  I finally slipped into a peaceful sleep, after so many years of restless nights. Little did they know, I'd be back and I had had this whole scene planned out for years. I know it sounds like I perhaps lied about what I said, but I didn't.  I meant it. Those words had spiraled in my mind for awhile now, giving me time to mean them and make a plan if something like this happened.
