Best of.....Friends?

It was a fine day..or so you thought..

Typical day. Waking up, fixing the bed. Heading straight to bathroom to do the morning rituals.

Once you get out the bathroom, your phone suddenly rang.
On its 3rd rang, you decided to answer the phone.

"Hello."

A deft-tifying yell welcomes you at the other side of the phone. It was Jenny, your childhood bestfriend.

"Aaaaaahhh, Nicooooo!"

You moved your phone away from your ears and said,

"Can you low it down, Jen? even the dead ones will came up from their grave upon hearing those voice of yours", you said that made her chuckles on the other line.

"Haha, uhm sorry not sorry!", Jenny replied.

You could almost imagine her facial expression when she said that. Thinking about it, your heart suddenly beat faster than its normal beat, that you almost forgot, that you have to keep that feeling from yourself. Jenny was your bestfriend and will always remain as your bestfriend.

Yes, what you feel from your so-called bestfriend was not simple friendship at all. You didn't know where, when and how it all started. You just woke up one day, and boom. You loved her more than a bestfriend. And you can't do anything about it. Or scared to tell it to tell your feelings from your dearest Jenny.

After clearing your throat, you said,

"Spill it out, Jen.. What is it this time?

"hmmmm.."

"Ok, I guess I know that what it means.. I'm gonna fix myself and I'll be there in 10 mins."

"Thanks, Nico.. You're such an angel!, Bye", then she hungs up.

**fast forward**

You find yourself standing infront of Jenny's house.

It's now or never.

Early this afternoon, you bumped onto her and said:

"Jen, i'll fetch you at your house at 7pm later. "

Then you leave immediately after saying that. Never even cared what would Jenny will reply.

Jenny, on the other hand, fix herself and patiently waiting for you to fetch her. As soon as she saw you waiting outside their house, she immediately kiss her mom and dad and meet you.

"So, what is this all about, Nico?"

You just stare her, again, feeling troubled if your gonna do it or not.

"Ha.. Let's say its a secret?", you said.

"Nico, you know me very well. So it means I hate secrets and surprises. Come on, lemme hear it. The suspense is killing me," Jenny awkwardly smile at you.

"Jen, spare me this time."

Then you brought her into a very nice restaurant. Such a great ambience. When deep inside of you, you wanna run back and pretend this thing never happen. But there's no turning back.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, the waiter approached you and led you to your table. You let Jenny sit first and then you sit infront of her. The waiter get your order and as soon as the waiter leaves, you start talking.

"So Jenny.."

"Yes..Nico, you brought me here and it worries me a lot"

"We've knew each other since we were five..", ok I'm gonna do it, you thought. "I just remember how we became friends. That one incident," you laugh reminiscing that moment. Jen even smiled about it.

"Yes, like I tripped down on the floor because of you, and there you are laughing your heart out instead of helping me, " she added.

"But, it was just the beginning of what we have right now, right?", you now talking while looking Jenny straight into her eyes.

"Yes, exactly. And since you bringing that thing up, I was very thankful I had you as my bestfriend, Nico, " then she suddenly stop as if thinking. "Is this somekind of our anniversary as best friends?"

You awkwardly smile and said, "sort of.. and more."

Jenny was about to said something but the food that you ordered came. As soon as the foods were settled, Jenny asked you to enlighten her about your last sentence.

"Uhm, Jenny..Jen.. As I was saying.. I've been with you all these years.. know your pain, happiness, sadness, and all other feelings. Would it be nice, if.. uhmm.. if..", there! You startled.

"What..?", Jenny now caught your attention.

"To.. us.. I mean.. I know, you only sees me as a friend, as your best buddy.. what Jen, I don't want us to remain friends."

"Are you trying to leave me, Nico? Am I not worth of your time? Am I making you feel bad everytime? is that so?, " Jenny feel so hurt. You can tell that so you said,

"Jen.. hold up.. its not what I mean.."

"What is it then?"

"I love you, Jenny. Not as a friend, but more than that."

Jenny was speechless. So you continue.

"I dont want us to remain as friends because I want us to be more than that. It's ok if your not feel the same as I did and maybe this may never work but I just dont want to hide this feeling any longer..I will wait for you, I promise I wont do anyth-.."

"I do love you, too Nico.."Jenny cuts you off.

That totally caught you off guard.

"What?"

"I said I do love you too, idiot!," she smile.

"So.. was that a 'YES' already?, you asked her.

"No! ofcourse you have you court me and do stuffs to make me fall for you even more.", she's laughing this time.

"Oh Jenny..", you laugh with her too and start thinking.. why not? At least,confessing to her was not a bad idea after all.

You both ended up talking about the what-to-do and stuff
Looking forward for a better relationship ahead.
