An Echo of Life

Chapter 1

Unknown P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of a twig snapping a few feet away. I quickly jumped up and climbed up the tree I was sleeping against. Right as I got to a safe branch and sat down something rushed into the clearing area I was sleeping in, it quickly stopped and looked around in confusion. I noticed that it was a human boy, he had black shaggy hair that went to his eyes. When he looked in my general direction, I noticed he had deep brown eyes that almost looked black, he was a little bit taller than the average reindeer and was wearing a light brown chiton that looked a bit old. Suddenly an older man came into the area behind the boy.

"Why are we here boy?" The man asked.

"There was someone here father! I know there was! I heard someone moving!" The boy sounded confused.

"Perhaps it was a deer, come boy. We must keep hunting, unless you do not wish to eat?" The man stated. The boy nodded his head and walked with his father back to hunt. Once they were far enough away I quietly jumped down and was greeted by my friends Dominic and Penny. They are twin deer, Dominic is a boy and Penny is a girl.

"You won't let them hurt us right E?" Penny asked with a scared look on her face.

"Don't worry little one, I won't let anyone lay a single finger on you, and if they do I will get revenge." I stated with a hint of a smile. They both seemed satisfied with my answer and went off in search of food. I started on my daily walk looking for anymore of my friends. Suddenly I had a feeling that I was being watched, so I sped up but the feeling would not go away. I started to sprint jumping over fallen trees and rocks, finally the feeling abruptly stopped so I stopped and tried to catch my breath. Then I heard something drop and splash, I looked up only to see a human girl. She was a few inches taller than my 5'3 size, had long black hair with a hint of a wave in it that went to her shoulders. I locked eyes with her and saw that her eyes were emerald green with little specks of gold in them. I then noticed that the thump had been her dropping a small bucket of water and that the water was getting everywhere. There was a yell and broke us out of our trance like state and I quickly ran back into the forest with a thought running through my head, 'I must see that girl again.'

Hello, author here, I just wanted to let everyone know that each chapter will be a different point of view. Plus, this story shouldn't be too long. This was part of an Honors English thing and I kinda went overboard since I only needed one page, heh whoops? Anyway, there are some things that are based off of Greek Mythology and Greek culture, but otherwise that plot line and most of the characters are my ideas. So please don't take them unless you ask me first and I give you permission. If you do see this story anywhere else please tell me right away, thank you.
