Day one and two alone were boring.

Huddled under the protection of covers, an alarm blared over the sleeping face of Lalisa Manoban.

She stirred roughly and glared pointedly at her phone.

It read 7:00 am.

It was Saturday and there was no point of being woken up so early and as a woman of her words, she didn't remember setting an alarm.

Finally, after pushing herself up, Lisa found her phone and shut it off.

The beeping stopped and she beckoned herself to sleep not before blatantly glaring at a paper folded neatly near the lamp with a smiley sticker glued to the corner.

With wobbly hands, Lisa tossed the paper in the trash bin in one skilled maneuver and not before long, dialed a number and was greeted by a small laugh bubbling up.

"I'm just getting you warmed up." The voice from the other line said.Lisa exhaled and shifted the phone in her hand.

"Rose.." She huffed to make sure she sound offended. "Do you want another mole on your face? Because I'll be more than glad to do it again once you returned from Australia."

Lisa actually sounded serious that she stifled a laugh as she could practically hear Rose shuddered on the other line.

"Okay I'm never gon' turn your alarm on again." Rose shivered, remembering how Lisa stabbed her on her cheek with a pen, marking a black dot by her ear when they were in 3rd grade.

Technically, it wasn't intentional, but the mere thought of activating the little sleeping monster in Lisa when Rose accidentally woke her up in class taught her to be more careful.

Lisa's parents would be miles away from her for the whole summer which is presumably 23 days.

So she moved through her morning rituals: starting with lighting the gas stove up for scrambled eggs and strips of bacon, then shoved the rest of the unwashed plates in the sink shortly after she's done.

Then she opened her laptop and started drifting to the cyber world but didn't last for five good hours.

Lisa considered going out for a movie but reluctantly shrugged it off because of the weather.

There were about 197 steps away from the movie house but if you were in a hurry it could stretch out to a half.

That afternoon when the sky is gray, Lisa propped against the window, eyes half closed, dreading and alone, wishing that the rain would fall soon.

She settled back down as the only thing she heard was a tiny whir of a car.

If she weren't bored she must've nonchalantly wavered it off.And so a nosy Lisa in her house clothes stood beside the threshold.

A surreal calm and silence met her just after opening the door.

She tried to make herself invisible while she surreptitiously looked from out of her doorway.

The car made a loud thud as it driven off the garage of Kim family.

Lisa's neighbor for years—who, maybe, has the same age as her—leaned in the window of the car and kissed her parents goodbye.

She's all: slender legs, long jet hair and pretty face.Although their house has been just across from her beloved home, the two families never had had warm greetings nor casual conversations.

Also, the Kim family was notorious for breaking the rules and tardiness, which was the total opposite of Manoban family—one of the endeavors and practitioners of rules.

In a moment, the car drove away and the girl across Lisa followed the trail with her eyes and a puppy pressed against her chest, enveloping the cute creature with her long arms.

Their eyes met for a strange split second before Lisa hurried herself for a coffee.
