The large wooden mansion appeared orange as the light of dusk showered over the place. Rooms began to light up, waiting for the cold and dark of the night. Surrounded by a small forest the mansion appeared of place, towering over the trees. From the top one could see past all the leaves and catch the sight of a sparkling lake, glowing orange at the time of day.

Top right side of the building was a balcony, harboring a wooden swing. And on it sat a girl, at late teens at most. Pure black hair hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, completely and utterly flawless, reaching just above her elbows.. Emerald green eyes glimmered as she looked over the forestation to at the lake, the sunlight reflecting off it beautifully to make a magnificent rainbow. The girls pink lips curled into a smile as she sat back on the swing glancing upwards to the darkening sky. Her face was close to perfect, with hollow cheeks and a narrow a chin defining. Her skin was as pale as the moon, and as beautiful. If not even more.

The girl quietly sat on the swing, pushing off with her feet to keep it moving, watching as the sun slowly sunk over the horizon

The girl quietly sat on the swing, pushing off with her feet to keep it moving, watching as the sun slowly sunk over the horizon.

Night had crawled onto them.

The girl stood up from the swing, raising her arms into the air to stretch herself, showing her stature to be about 5'11. She wore a grey sweatshirt a size or two bigger for her, not showing off her true features, and a pair of black skinny jeans. A yawn left her lips as she took a step forward to lean against the railing, looking down at their garden. She let out a small sigh.

This, was Alice, one of the very few people in the world that has survived the apocalypse, along with all the other crap their god had thrown to them. For 8 long years she had been surviving, but not on her own. When she was 8, all the way back in 2015 she had met a group of survivors which rescued her. And sadly, almost all of them had met their demise.. except one. Naheel, the only survivor from their group, and Alices guardian.

Facing the apocalypse at the age of 8 was terrifying, Alice watched her fathers guts get torn out of him, and she couldn't do anything. She remembered turning away and running to her houses attic as her father had said. And that's where she'd been for almost a week, if not more. At that moment, the girl found death to be the most comforting choice. But not at the hands of these... walkers. Not the brightest dream for an 8 year old.

"You're still out here?" A familiar voice called to Alice. Immediately she rolled her eyes and glanced over her shoulder to see a figure just about as tall or taller than her. "Jeez, stop worrying about me, I'm not a kid anymore. I can take care of myself" She said with a chuckle, her voice coming out silky.

The man chuckled lightly. Bit like the girl, he sported a narrow chin, and the not the most fullest of cheeks. Brown eyes, however dull still showed a glint of life. He had along scar down the right side of his face, and another one along his lips.

This was her guardian, and best friend, Naheel. Standing at 6', he barely outgrew the girl, just the inch separating their heights. His messy long hair actually making him seem taller. He was fit, but not too muscular as he had an average body, built from years and years of hunger, fighting and survival. He had a slightly darker skin tone from spending so long in the sun. "That was the same thing you said when you were 12, I still had to save you from about everything then" He smirked when he said so, walked up to stand next to the girl, leaning back against the rail. He reached forward and ran his fingers through Alices her before quickly ruffling it to mess it up. "Oh shut up" Said Alice as she pushed his hand off, but they both knew it was for fun. "It ain't much fun here love, let's get back downstairs to everyone. Also, there's only a week or two left until the special day" He gave her back a pat before quickly jogging over to the door before coming to a stop. He looked back to see the girl staring off into the blank void. "Alice?" He called. The girl snapped out of it before looking back at Naheel and giving him a soft smile. "I'm comiing, just... thinking about some old friends.." Her voice got quieter at the end. Naheel said nothing for a second before giving her a nod. "Just hurry up love, see you down" Waving his hand to her, he went on to walk down the corridor to the stairs, leaving Alice to herself at the balcony.
