A/N Hi guys. This is my first actual fanfiction, so please don't judge meh. Thank you guys for reading!

It was a beautiful day in Hawkins, Indiana. The birds chirped happily and the people waved to each other. After the events of the Upside Down, everyone seemed to grow closer to each other. That is, except for Mike and Eleven. They were farther apart than anyone.

A YEAR EARLIER
"Kid, I gotta tell you something." Hopper sighed. "Yes?" El responded in her lower pitched and obviously curious voice. "I don't know if it's best for you to stay here.. in Hawkins."

And that one thing that Hopper had said crushed Eleven's hopes.

PRESENT (December 5th, 1985)
Mike sat in his bedroom, thinking long and hard like usual about Eleven. 'What could she have done to make Hopper give her up so easily?' Mike sighed, laying back on his fluffy pillows. 'There has to be some way to find her.'

"What's for dinner?" El asked quietly. She hated her new home. She hated her new school. She hated all the people in it. El basically hated the whole entire new town she was living in. "Meatloaf." Mrs. Cantrall, El's new mother, responded bluntly. Something about that woman made El think she had no heart.. no soul.. "Okay." El says, going up the carpeted stairs to her bedroom. 'My God.. I swear this place is no fun at all.' El thinks, throwing herself on to her pink and blue striped bed. She pulls out her sketchbook she got for her 'birthday', except, who knew when her birthday actually was? El always stuck with the date that Mike had told her. November 6th. She'd never forget it. El grabs a normal #2 pencil that happened to be laying beside her and she begins to sketch the only thing she ever draws. Mike.

Mike stands up. "I have to find her." He whispers, grabbing a suitcase and a bag of chips he happened to have on his dresser. 'I'll find her wether my parents like it or not.'

MIDNIGHT
'BEEP BEEP BEEP' Mike groans, opening his eyes and looking at his beeping watch. He turns the alarming noise off, sliding out of his bed. 'Food and money.' he thinks. 'I need food and money.' he slowly creeps downstairs with his suitcase, lifted off the ground, so it doesn't make noise. 'I'm doing this. I have to see El.' He grabs his dad's wallet that was laying open on the table. Mike takes a large clump of money. He wasn't completely aware of how much, but it was money. Mike stuffs the wad in his pocket, rushing to the door. He walks out into the woods. Mike was going to the train station.

El laid wide awake in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She hadn't ever gotten much sleep since she started living at that old, yet new, house. She rolls over in her bed, sighing at the thought that she'd probably never see Mike again. What if Mike had forgotten her? El always thought that. She was pretty forgettable. It's just like finding an animal, like a bunny, in the woods, keeping it for a while, and then.. poof. It disappears. You'll always forget about it after a while. After five minutes or so, El finally closes her eyes, slowly falling asleep.

Mike stares at the lit up train station, amazed at how bright it was in the night. He sighs, looking down at the cold concrete ground for a brief moment. "I'm doing this," Mike mutters. "I'm not going to stop looking until I find her." Mike finally looks back up at the blinding lights of the train station. He walks into the station before feeling a cold and large hand grab his shoulder. "Excuse me, Wheeler. Where do you think you're going?" All that could run through Mike's mind was this;

'Hopper.'
