The next couple of days past, and I hadn't seen Michael at all.  The whole situation still had me speechless.  How?  Why?  I'm was just at a lose.

"Hey (Y/N)," Kyle smiled.

"Oh, hi Kyle," I smiled back, looking more past him rather than at him.

"So um-"

He stopped himself.  Was it because he noticed that I had zoned out before he ever approached me?

"Well I was wondering-"

No, he wasn't falling short of words because of my lack of interest, but rather because he was nervous.  You could see it on his face.  He kept likeing his lips, and his fists were clenty rather tight.

Cute.

I was no longer looking past him- he know held all of my attention as a small smile formed on my face.

"What's up?" I asked, still with a small grin.

"I was- well- thinking, you know, I think you're pretty cute, and- I don't know-"

I couldn't help but giggle.

He sighed, "I'm making a fool of myself, aren't I? I'll let you go-"

"I think you're pretty cute too," I interrupted him.

His sad eyes lit up, "Really?"

I nodded still giggling.

"Well, I was thinking we should hang out sometime," he suggested.

"I'd love that," I agreed.

To answer a question.  Now, pretend like it didn't happen.  I have things to do.

"Cool, so I'll text you later?" he tried to confirm.

"I'll be expecting it," I laughed.

He gave an awkward hug before going back down the hall.

Cute.

*Michael's P.O.V.*

"Did you see Kyle and that new girl?" Raven asked.

I had seen them.  It was almost painful to watch; it was so awkward.

"Normally he has better game than that," Raven commented.  "Maybe it's because I'm not around anymore?"

It was just me and him in the hallway.  If Pete or Henrietta were here, they'd know exactly what I was trying to get at the other day.

"You think they'll get together?"

I felt my eye twitch, "Probably.  You see her, she is his type.  They'll be that perfect wannabe family that lives in the suburbs.  He'll work at some law firm like his father, and she'll stay home to take care of their three kids.  They'll live that ideal nuclear family, and that's fine because people like them aren't like us.  They don't understand how truly shitty life it.  They're idiots."

Raven's mouth closed quickly.

I slammed my locker, and we made it to the back of the school.

Their perfect nuclear family.  That's what they'll have, and that's fine.  That's was ingrate conformists are on this earth for.  Not me- not people like me.  We know the truth about life.  They are the real ones suffering.
