Great tremors shook the globe as he danced his fingertips along the surface, a frown darkening his face as he filled yet another quota. The light next to him shone brightly, illuminating his work of the past 2000 years, 96 million and 37, 38, 39, dead, glowing in flashing blue. His skin crawled as he watched the number steadily rise, breath deepening as his fingers moved further south, dancing along the waterline to create more tremors, sending great waves collapsing against an island as a voice cleared from behind him.
"The Elders wish to see you, Lord Park." A low, sultry voice hummed, a hand crawling up the God's naked back, fingernails drawing red lines into the fair skin, the pearly glow of the smooth canvas highlighted more by the glowing blue behind him. Sighing deeply, he turned, capturing the hand that clawed against his skin.
"Why have you dropped my title, Goddess Messina?" He growled harshly, his blank expression remaining on the stunning deity in front of him who grinned up at him, wide doe eyes swimming with amusement as the dark golden storms began to swirl around his. She smirked softly up at him, moving her body close to his as her lips, painted thickly with blood, perked up with a smirk. He narrowed his angular eyes, the striking golden brown of his irises swimming furiously as he watched her spread a hand across his chest, creeping slowly to amble along his defined neck. There was not an inch on the pair that was scattered with imperfection, instead, they were paragons of beauty, as Gods should be.
"You aren't a God yet my little Jae-Eun, just give me your title and save yourself the trouble, I promise I'll use you well." She giggled, lips pressed against his ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck, the smooth golden skin tanned from her time in the human realm. Her Grecian beauty placed her as a Goddess even in the human realm. Giggling again, she bit his earlobe softly, then moved to kiss his neck.
A great rumble erupted in the room, cracking the ground beneath her feet so that she stumbled away from him, laughing maniacally as he calmly rolled his eyes, sauntering out of the room towards the Elders. He turned sharply, looking at her a final time as he sighed.
"I will never cease my powers to you Messina, nor will I ever become your servant. As always, I am God Park to you, do not call me by my name and do not touch me again else you wish your realm destroyed," He growled lowly before twisting sharply on his heel, his mind reeling darkly as he thought of her foolish attempts to usurp him.
Moving quickly through the corridors he thought to what he possibly could have done wrong, having been officially named the God of Misfortune some 1673 years ago, Ambition clouded the judgement of the Gods, if he was certain of one thing, it was that, and his curiosity took hold as he thought of Messina's words. Sighing, he reached the Great Door in front of him, throwing the doors open, the ground shaking with every step he took.
His arrogance became him as he sauntered into the room of Elders, their voices falling silent as he came to stand at the great quart stand he was called to, resting casually up against up as the Goddess of Death smiled up at him, his leader and the Elder under which he was promised.
"God Park, you are called here today before your Elders to discuss that matter of your unfulfilled Godship. We call you forth after complaints from the Board of Darkness about missing your experience in the human realm," She hummed gently, her voice crawling up his spine to send a shiver through him. Death had a warm soul, understanding her job was a necessity, however, her voice what that of harsh steel and dripped with contempt as he tilted his head slightly, partly in curiosity and partly in confusion.
"I believe it was agreed that I did not have to enter the human realm under the condition that I meet my death deadline each month?" He questioned, watching as death drummed her fingers on the smooth golden table in front of her, perking a perfectly shaped eyebrow up at him with a grin.
"That was a temporary deal God Park, or shall I say, Lord Park, you will be removed from your position, and Goddess Messina will be taking over until you complete your 3 Ethereal tasks. You may once again claim your position after this." Death began as Messina strutted into the room, taking a seat beside the God of Nature, wrapping her arms around his torso in a tight embrace as she smirked over at Jae-Eun. His expression became stormy as the portal door flew open behind him, the rippling force dragging him towards it as he was condemned to humanity.
"You have until the Blood Harvest happens in 6 human years, you will find your tasks in your apartment. Find your servant Lord Park, she is currently praying for you and only you, for your anger has destroyed her, do well and become a God." Rang the words of the Goddess of death as he was taken through the portal, the cold emptiness of the void pulling him into the realm of humans as he felt a deep anger well within him, landing perfectly on the hard marble floor of a penthouse apartment.
A man clamored forward, bowing at the feet of the God before him as Jae-Eun took in his surrounding, the cityscape of LA rising around him as he took the scroll from the servant before him.
Looking at the instructions he scoffed, swearing his revenge on Messina and promising his return as a God as a human voice, that of a desperate woman, suddenly filled his head.
"What use is there of praying to the God of Life or Mercy when the only god who holds onto me is the god of misfortune. So I'm asking you to save that little girl and my life, in turn, is yours to have, I promise." Her cries were distant, somewhere in the smoke that was unfurling up ahead. He could feel his own destruction, understanding that it was his earlier Earthquake that caused this woman to promise her own life up. He laughed to himself, flicking his fingers across two life charts that sat on his desk, restoring them as much as he felt willing to.
"God of Misfortune, you bastard, you have had a hold on my life for years, so if you don't help me out soon I will make your life a damn misery," He heard her voice glower again, an angry growl of pain and anger that made him smile sincerely to himself despite his situation. He caught the eyes of the servant who still bowed at his feet, the elderly human looking up at him with wide blue eyes tinged with fear.
"Stand, servant, and take this list. Find out all that is possible and return swiftly with the knowledge. In addition to this, I want you to bring me my identification and human charts. We have until the Blood Harvest to secure my power." He grumbled harshly, fixing the chart of his servant and the life she prayed for fully with a gentle smile, rolling his eyes as he heard her scared whispers. All he had was her voice and her thoughts, echoing gently in his head every time she thought of him. Smirking he fixed himself a drink, sitting in the leather recliner as he watched his destruction unfurl before him.
"I will take back my Godship Messina, even if it's the last thing I do."
