Chapter 30: A Long Forgotten Past of Secrets

You all are in for a treat.

Mason's POV

I walk proudly through my pack, finally making it over the border between lands. With my shoulders squared and a victorious smile on my lips, I don't think practically anything could bring down my mood. Cleo looks up at me and smiles, leaning her head against my shoulder.

Cleo and I have been gone for a whole month.

With so much packs to get to, it all took a lot of time. Though it surprisingly was not as long as everyone had anticipated. Now every single girl who won their own competition were already staying in the now modern castle. After a heavy background check through the castle, we had finally understood why it was abandoned.

Apparently many moons ago -back before even my great grandparents were birthed- there was a feud between the now current royals and another pair of them in what is now our territory. There was the West Kingdom then there was the East Kingdom. The East Kingdom wanted the West's land so in order to bring on a war, they had killed the West King's daughter. A vicious war had broke out between them, leaving the West kingdom in defeat.

While the East Kingdom celebrated their win, the Wests devised a plan. They had built under ground tunnels below the East's kingdom. Mean while, the West's own prince went undercover as a warrior in the East's land. The East Kingdom would mock the other's power and dared for them to start another war. This new war would give whoever won, their whole land. Meaning, only one kingdom would be left standing.

But the West Kingdom was far from unprepared. They had lost many soldiers in the previous war, along with many weapons and rations. It was official -they had nothing left to fight for. All except their beloved lost and dead princess. To everyone that was an outsider, it was a suicide mission.

The Wests took their advantage and with the help of their undercover prince, killing the King in cold blood only two days before the soon to be war would start. The Queen of the King had died not long after from depression.

But a piece of it that no one had ever mentioned, was the West's prince was actually mates with the dead King's daughter. What no one had ever said or even thought about is the fact that the young pair of mates killed the King together. Oh yes, you heard that right. The dead King's own daughter had helped the enemy kill her own father. 

The young mates have then started their own pack. Knowing that the prince's father and mother would never approve of her, they ran away together. Never to be seen or heard from again.

A little tid bit? Those two special mates had made the same pack that I'm Beta of. I'm originally exposed to be Alpha. Guess what that means. Yup, the long lost royals are my ancestors. I have royal blood in me.

That was how the East and West became one. The only thing left standing from the East was their castle. Which just so happened to be in our pack. The castle then would be left -completely abandoned. After all the generations, the story got twisted around, leaving only rumors of what actually happened before. After everything, the location of the castle was then lost. No one knew where it was until today.

But like most would think, this should be in history books somewhere, right? Wrong.

The now royals have burned every trace of their past. Now you can't find anything about what had happened. They were so ashamed of what they did that they wanted to delete their history forever. Only the now royals know about this story. Every person that knows this, is sworn to secrecy. Only the royal bloodline can know it. Meaning, my parents, Cleo, Pheonix, Jason, and all the royals can know.

The one person I'm worried about the most that can't know this? Jasper.

While we were out spread among the packs to find people to compete, we even went to the royal's palace to just stay there since we were in town. That's when we talked personally with the king about my born past. 

The most scariest thing that we had discussed? The royals demanded I fought to become Alpha in order to continue the bloodline.

Welp that was short but I'm pretty sure it was worth it.

I'm sorry I didn't update sooner but something huge personally in my life had came up and I couldn't update. So now..... IS THE COMPETITION WE ARE WAITING FOR.

Whoever comments first in THIS update and say whoever their favorite character is and why, they will get this:

1. They will get to make a character in the book (Say what they look like, personality, name, ect.) and who they are to the cast (Optional: Just a random person or like a long lost sibling to somebody. Can be anything else of your choice.)

2. They will get to pick what the next two chapters will be like. (what will happen in them) including whoever's POV *point of view*.

Along with that, say what you like about this update or what you think will happen next.

I WILL SAY WHO WON IN THE NEXT UPDATE. The next update will not be a chapter update. Then I would just say who won, congratulate them, and continue on with the next chapter updates.
