Severin Chemical Plant~10 Years Ago
"Wakey Wakey Maaaatt." Came an all too familiar voice by now. The costumed vigilante known as the First had been ambushed by the worst criminal to ever walk the earth, Madder Red. The First had gotten a call that there was a break in at the chemical plant. This hurt the 'hero' that much more because that plant was in the ownership of his mother. He rushed over to investigate which in his haste he had been assaulted and overwhelmed by the Red Mad Gang. He'd been struck over the head multiple times until finally he passed out. Now, here he was...tied down efficiently to a metal chair with his foe looking down at him. Worst yet, he was using his real name.
"Now, I know what you're thinking..." Madder Red began as he straddled the First's hips like a stripper but it was just so they could look each other eye to eye and at the same time make him squirm. "What kind of sharp of blunt instrument is Madder Red going to use to cause me pain tonight?" As the psychopath spoke his fingers walked up the side of the tied down man's mirrored mask. "Damn, I'm starting to get fat." Madder commented on his reflection. "But, anyways. I'm not gonna be putting the hurt on you tonight." He said, grabbing the back of his enemy's head to make sure he was focusing." "In fact, I've actually got some good news for you."
"Yeah?" Asked the First. "Gonna turn yourself in, or kill yourself?" He asked in his gruff made up hero voice.
"HA! That's what I love the most about you buddy ol' pal. It's that quick wit of yours. NO! You're not that lucky pal. But you are getting lucky. See, I'm taking a vacation. I'm gonna be leaving Bedlam to go on a little trip. I just wanted to let you know so you wouldn't miss me or anything. Considering I am your reason to get into these glorified hockey pads and be store-brand Batman." Madder cackled at that. "Speaking of Batman, that's actually where I'm heading." With that the masked maniac got up off of the other's lap and just stood over them. "I'm gonna go to Gotham. See what mischief I can get into."
"So, you're telling me you're going to be Batman's problem for awhile?" The First asked.
"Well, truth be told I don't really plan on running into the tight wearing freak. Ooops, who am I to talk about tight wearing freaks?" Madder's head tilted slightly to the left. "But if I do, I'll be sure to tell him what a rip-off of you he is." He said and then reached down for something out of sight. "Now I know I said I wouldn't bludgeon you with anything tonight but..." Over his head came a metal baseball bat. "Seeing as how I'm gonna go, I wanted to give you something to remember me by."
~Later-Gotham City
Madder Red had arrived in Gotham City. The place was a real shit hole. He wondered why with someone as super rich as Bruce Wayne in the city how it still managed to never get out of the Great Depression. Then, he remembered that he spends all his money transforming himself and everything he carries into Bat themed things. Fucking pathetic. He hypothesized that this little war the Bat was waging upon Gotham's mentally ill was actually causing far more damage to the city than any bad guy could. Come on, the guy drives around a GODDAMN TANK plus he was actually in league with the GCPD which meant that every poor sap that the Bat beats to a bloody pulp was just another case of police brutality. Not that a sicko like Madder Red cared. In 3 years he had managed to kill almost two thousand people. He just thought the shit was hilarious.
The first stop was the Iceberg Lounge, a place run by Oswald Cobblepot AKA the Penguin and though it seemed like a normal nightclub anybody who knew anything knew that it was also a meeting place for Gotham's super criminals. The woman at the front desk was reading a book, not paying attention to the incoming characters coming in. That was until Madder Red stopped in front of her and cleared his throat. She looked up and the look of shock and fear as she looked upon his masked visage was almost enough for the criminal to get aroused. She was pretty, he'd have to remember to come back and 'play' with her when he was done with this. "Uh uh...how can I help you sir?"
"Well, I was just walking down the street and figured this would be a could place to grab a~What the fuck do you think I'm here for?" Madder asked, leaning closer to her, her image being reflected in the small dark red lenses of his mask.
"Um...he's upstairs...please...don't kill me?"
"Oh. Don't worry cutie I won't. But, only if you stay right here while I go see the fat bird upstairs. If I come down and you're gone then I'm going to paint the walls with your spleen. Got it?"
"G~g~g got it sir..."
"Good girl." Madder patted her head before making his way upstairs. When he got outside the office he was confronted by a large man with a very clear bad attitude and a gun at his side.
"The boss ain't seeing nobody right now. Get lost freak."
"Freak? That's a bit rude. Then again I suppose we can't all be as normal as you can we? You truly give us something to aspire to buddy."
"I'm not your buddy, now get lost before this gets ugly."
"It can't possibly get any uglier than what I'm looking at. What an incredible find! Who knew that the neanderthal was alive and well in this day and age! I could win a Nobel Peace Prize for this discovery." With that, the lummox did exactly what Madder wanted. Despite that fact that he was armed, the insulting from the masked man made the guardsman throw a punch towards him. It was easy enough to dodge, he was slow and dumb. It did provide Madder Red with the perfect chance to close the distance between them, draw out his handy scalpel and slit the throat of man.
The large man dropped his gun, clutched his throat, and fell to his knees as he tried to gasp for air. "Wow, that is a lot of blood." Madder commented. The man gurgled and grunted as he tried to still move towards the the costumed criminal. "Jesus Christ, really? Shut up and die already fucker." The maniac grabbed the gun that the guy had dropped and fired a shot into his head, right between the eyes. "Ahh, that did nothing for me." With that, Madder walked atop of the bleeding dead man like a red carpet before entering the office.
"Who the Hell are you?" Asked the Penguin sitting in his office chair.
"You don't know me, but you know something I want to know so...we're going to have a little chat you and I." With that, Madder Red locked the door behind him and approached the balding man slowly.
~20 Minutes Later
Madder Red came down the stairs, covered in blood in various places. He saw the same girl standing at the front desk trembling. "I~I stayed just you asked."
"You're such a good girl." Madder said before shooting her in the head. "Ooops, looks like I lied." With that it was time to actually do what he came here to do. All in all Madder was having a really fun vacation. Still it was time to get serious. He had to get to the Narrows.
Once he had gotten there he looked around. Somehow this was an even shittier than the rest of the city. Honestly, it was rather impressive. There he found it. It was a building that had long been abandoned. It was probably in line to be condemned, that was when Red thought the whole city should be. He amused himself sometimes. He made his way inside and looked around. "I swear, if that tub of lard lied to me then I'm going to take the other hand." He whispered to himself. But, that's when he found what he was looking for. The room was dark, but luckily the light-switch worked. It was probably the only thing that did. It wasn't much. It was a one bedroom apartment. The bedroom WAS the apartment. It was obvious that this room had actually been lived in. There was women's undergarments strewn about the bed. Speaking of the bed, it wasn't made and there was pieces of duct tape on the bed posts. Looks like someone was having some fun.
He made his way inside, closing the door behind him. He walked over to the closet and opened it. Well, the Penguin was right. There they were. Multiple costumes in the color scheme of red and black. There were variations. Ones for stealth, one for cold weather. But, they all shared the color scheme and basic design. This was it, the place he was looking for. He turned off the light and then sat down in the chair at the end of the bed. Now, he would wait.
