You'd think being the most popular girl at your school is the best feeling ever, sweetie, it's not. Imagine being stalked and having no escape. Let me start off by being in middle school where I had all the students attention. I had my little group of friends, they are so amazing, but I involved them in something that they'd hate me for the rest of their very very short lives. It was only two hours after school had started. Obviously I had all the attention, then our principal called an emergency assembly. I didn't know what was happening at the moment. The entire school entered the auditorium and we could all see the deans, guards, and principals on the stage. They looked very mad and worried. Then the principal announces that someone in the school is doing terrible things off of campus, he says that someone is threatening the entire school with death if this person doesn't come forward for not paying his "rent bill". We all know that means someone is working for a drug lord and hasn't given them the money they make. At that exact moment, I had remembered that I used to sell drugs two months ago. Then my best friends turned and looked at me with a shocked face. I can't believe I got them into selling drugs with me. I didn't know what to do! I was panicking, then out of nowhere, we heard gunshots outside.
Everyone screamed, but we immediately went into lockdown. I got on the floor with my best friends, Aracely, Carolina, Jessica, and my twin Katrina. We had all sold cocaine and marijuana to our gang. We left the gang like a month ago. We never got into beef with them. We started talking about what we were going to do and how to solve it. Jessica suggests we fake our death from 'suicide'. That was a terrible idea, then Carolina suggests we run away to Mexico. That one was even worse, where were we going to get the money for plane tickets or even find out how to live there. Aracely suggests we come forward and turn in the $9000 we have to give 'El Narkiyo'.
Yeah he sounds very stupid, but don't mess around with him. The principal calls the police and the police arrive in an instant. 'El Narkiyo' got arrested, but his men managed to escape. He probably sent his men to find me, they don't know that my friends sold the drugs too so I have to pay the $9000. Katrina suggested we go on a 'field trip', well that's what we'll call it so our parents don't suspect nothing. She means take a field trip to Canada. Since we live in Montana, it'll be very easy to cross over the border. We'll just have to buy a lot of bus tickets.
The shooting is now over and we get back into our seats. The principal proceeds to talk about this person who has to turn in the "rent money" and says if they don't come forward, it'll cost them their lives. At this moment, everyone turns to me like if it's me or something, but that's what happens when you're popular. Obviously I sold the drugs, but what do they know, they're assuming. The day continues and I skip class with Carolina and Aracely. I have to put them in charge of buying the tickets and printing out the permission slips. I'll bring lots of money along with Katrina. We've sold drugs, we probably have like $60,000 in our cabinets. I told them that I had $60,000 and they yelled at me and said, "So you don't think of paying 'El Narkiyo'!?" I didn't want to give him the money I earned.
They kept whispering and I didn't know what about. I didn't care. All I was worried about is leaving the country. We finally headed to our next class because some students kept staring at us like if they knew we sold the drugs. So irritating, anyways the bell rung and kids filled the hall way. They hurried and grabbed their things getting ready to leave home. As some kids left, there were some black cars outside and I knew it was 'El Narkiyo's' men. I told my girls that we had to go out from the back because of the men. There's this neighborhood behind our school so we can go past one of the fences and call my big sister to come pick us up. Her name is Fatima, she's a junior in high school and knows how to drive so she'll pick us up. I called her and told her to come quick. She arrived in less than five minutes.
