Undyne's house wasn't too deep into the cavern. Before long, we're walking up a pathway to a giant house shaped like a fish.
Papyrus stood in front of the house. "She just got off the phone with Alphys, so she's in a great mood!!!" He smiles wide.
"Thanks, bro." Sans winks and we walk past him.
"Hey, human!" Papyrus grabs my arm. "Give this to her. She loves it." He places a bone with a ribbon in my hand.
"Uh, thanks. Will do..."
He marches ahead of us, and knocks.
"Ah, Papyrus! It's so good to see you." She looks over Papyrus' shoulder and glares at me. "Come on in."
Sans loops his arm with mine and we walk in behind Papyrus together.
"Oh! Undyne! Look at what the human has brought you! Completely on her own!!!!"
On cue, I hold up the bone. Undyne rolls her eyes, but fakes a smile and takes the bone from me. She then opens a drawer full of bones identical to this one and slams it in.
"So! Why don't you have a seat and we can start... making friends...?" Undyne sighs and her eye twitches.
"Yeah, uh. Let's sit." Papyrus takes a few steps towards the table, before turning on his heel and leaping out the window.
"WHAT THE HECK, PAPY!!??" Undyne screams, running towards the broken window, flailing her arms. She puts two fingers in between her eyebrows and pushes. "its fine." She whispers to herself. Then turns around.
"Sup, Undyne?" Sans smiles.
"Shut up, Sans!"
Sans shrugs and goes to sit at the table.
I look around her house. She had a piano, a collection of spears, a counter, and a fridge.
I walk over to the piano and press a key. Undyne jumps up. "Oh! Alphys likes it when I play the piano."
"Why don't you play for me?" I ask her.
Her face lights up and she rushes over to the piano. "Wait. No. Not for you." She stops and walks back to the table. "Now, come. Sit."
I walk over to her spear collection now. Some were large, and some were small. A few different even have heads.
I run my finger along the side of one, and freeze when I feel a hand holding on to my shoulder.
Turning around slowly I see Undyne.
"If you weren't my house guest, I'd show you my spear collection. Now, please. Sit. At. The. Table."
"You should probably come sit down, kiddo." Sans shrugs.
I smile awkwardly, and waddle over to the table.
"Hi! Welcome to my home." Undyne says. "I'm Undyne, and I'm about to be your best friend."
She extends a hand, and I shake it cautiously.
She squeezes my hand tightly, and I feel my knuckles pop. Sans cringes.
"Alphys called before you came in." Undyne leans back in her chair and studies her fingernails. "She's naïve. It must not have taken too much for you to sway her to your side."
Sans shrugs. "Alphys is an old friend. She saw Naomi was not a threat."
"Ah!" Undyne shoots forward, "There you are wrong! Frisk didn't seem hostile until he was!" She points at me, "Naomi doesn't seem hostile, until she is..."
Sans shakes his head. "We have monsters down here that attack on sight, but do all of them?" Sans puts his hand on my knee. "Likewise, some humans may attack, but not all of them. Naomi has done nothing wrong. She deserves your respect." Sans gives her a nasty look, and his eye turns blue.
Undyne smiles, visibly triggered and stands up suddenly. "W-Would you like something to drink?" She asks, her left eye twitching. I didn't know why, but she was listening to Sans and his glowing blue eyes now.
"Something to drink would be nice..." I say awkwardly. Sans winks at me.
She walks into the kitchen, obviously irked.
"Hey, lighten up. Why don't you prank her a little? She'll do whatever you say."
Undyne returns with a pitcher, and three glasses. "I brought tea, I hope you like it."
"Actually," I pipe up and Sans snickers into his sleeve, pretending to have a coughing fit.
"What is it, Naomi?" Undyne says with a big smile and wide, twitchy eyes.
"I, uh, I kind of wanted soda..."
Undyne picks up the pitcher and the glasses and walks back into the kitchen. "V-Very well."
Sans' eye goes back to normal. "Hey, kid?"
"Yeah, Sans?"
Sans smiles, "You're a good kid."
"Oh, thanks?" I blush.
Undyne comes back, this time with three bottles. "Here. We don't have much variety down here in the Underground. Just what falls down the water fall."
"The waterfall?" I ask reaching across the table to grab a bottle. I screw the top off and take a sip. It tasted like ridiculously flat coke.
"Yeah, the waterfall." Undyne leans back comfortably in her chair again. "Alphys says the waterfall streams down from the Surface. That's where we met, actually." Undyne smiles happily. "We go garbage hunting sometimes."
I smile, "You mean, like, dumpster diving?"
"I guess, you could say that?" She giggles.
"You and Alphys are quite close, aren't you?" I take another swig of my flat coke, and put my hand on top of Sans'.
Undyne takes a big swig from hers and smiles, "I guess you could say that, too."
There is silence, but not an awkward one, a peaceful silence. Undyne and I, somehow, were bonding.
"Um, haha." She breaks the silence and coughs. "Would you like me to play you the piano, now?"
I nod enthusiastically. "That would be nice."
She stands up from the table, and leads Sans and I to the piano. We sit close to each other on the floor next as Undyne sits on the bench and rests her hands on the keys.
She sighs and begins playing. Her hands move fast up and down the keyboard, and she plays a calm song. It was rocky, and set all at the same time.
Undyne was a remarkable piano player.
"I see you three are getting along!" Papyrus says entering through the window he had leaped out of earlier.
Undyne stops playing quickly and bangs on the keyboard. "Papyrus! You scared me."
"Nyeh heh heh!" He smiles. "A royal guardsman is very, very sneaky."
Undyne walks across the room to him. She pats him on the back, "Keep up the good work, and you might earn a promotion."
Papyrus smiles, "So, how was your time with the human?"
"I had my doubts at first, but..." Undyne smiles widely at me, "I guess she's swayed me to her side, just like she's done for everyone else."
