Prologue

" Clink!"

The can of of soda fell down the vending machine.

The blond girl shook her head as she picked up the can.

Modelling camp sure was hard on her, she thought. The can opened with a hiss. With a wary look at the can, she sighed.

" I guess no one will know."

"I.. see... you." A singsong voice called out, echoing around her, whispering with the wind.

"Huh?"

The blond girl turned around. No one was there. She was surrounded by nothing but the trees and the darkness of the night.

"Who's there?"she called out but there was nothing but silence that met her ears.

" You... can't ...hide..."The voice called out again.

"Not funny!" The blond huffed as a giggle erupted around her .

Suddenly, the lights by the vending machine went out. Leaving the blond alone in the dark.

She started shivering , spilling the coke over the edge of the can.

That's when she felt a hand close around her throat.

" No one is perfect... but I love your eyes."

That was the last thing she heard before she screamed as another giggle sounded.

When the lights came on again, the blond was sprawled on the floor. Her can of coke was still grasped tightly in her hand, but its contents were long gone, spilled onto the grass, mixed with the dark pool of blood.

And her eyes were nothing left but to empty sockets.

Chapter 1- Lyea Haevers

My luggage was a heavy lump on the ground and refused to budge. Or maybe I was the heavy lump refusing to move.

Watching the rest of the girls piling around the entrance made me feel nervous. Some of them were staring down at the others, some who i assumed were friends were chatting. But one thing was for sure, everyone of them was freaking gorgeous.

And more than ready to hand my loser's-ass back to Dewinton.

A month ago, I was (unfortunately) nominated as my school's representative to enter the Dewinton state audition.  And despite the immense competition, I was chosen.

But looking at all the girls now, they made the girls back home look like cheap plastic dolls.

The wind whipped my hair back and forth as I dragged my luggage towards the entrance. And that's when I saw her.

She was gawking at me, but when she saw me she quickly threw me a dazzling smile. But her moss green eyes held something more sinister. More murderous. I could almost feel as if her tongue was flicking in and out of her mouth, tasting my blood in the ai-

" Watch out!"

"Huh?"

Before I could react, I was knocked onto the ground and someone was crushing me.

" Oh my god, I'm so sorry! Don't just lie there Daniel, you're going to crush her."

I craned my neck painfully and looked at the girl who was talking. Her blond curls were bouncing in the wind and her sky blue eyes were narrowed at the person crushing me to the ground.
