Munkustrap was deep in discussion with Bombalurina and Jennyanydots, when he noticed Jazzie's marked absence. He looked around, distractedly. Where had she snuck off to? He nodded apologetically towards Bombalurina and Jennyanydots,

"Excuse me, ladies," he said.

"You are excused!" winked Bombalurina. She smiled knowingly at Jennyanydots.

"She's probably in her lab, dear," said The Gumbie Cat.

"Thank you." He silently crept down the stone steps and spotted the Snowshoe sitting on her workbench with her back towards him. As he edged closer, he could see that her head was bowed. It looked as though she was crying. "Jazz?" he asked tentatively, but the only reaction he got was a small sniff. Feeling a little confused, he eased himself in front of her and crouched down, so that he could look up into her sad face, and as she looked into his eyes, she saw that they were full of sympathy, which only made her tears fall faster. Her lips quivered. "What's up, Snow Boots?" he asked. She bit her lip, but that only made it quiver even more. She was too choked up to answer, but she just about managed to whisper,

"It's n-nearly o-over..." He slowly straightened up so that his nose brushed hers.

"What is nearly over?" he asked. Why was she so upset? He had no idea! He carefully sorted through his memories to try to find any misdemeanors on his part, but nothing came up, although having said that, while the confrontation had been difficult for him, it must have been torture for her gentle nature to have to witness. Was she worried that he didn't love her anymore? How many times had he been over this? Her shoulders shook so much that she couldn't answer, so he held her and allowed her to release the trapped sobs into his fur. As he stroked her head, he softly sang,

"I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

I, feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay, bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away, yeah

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down
I'll be around with my undying
Death defying love for you
Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful

Sparkling love, flowers and pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin' in, rushin' inside of me, yeah

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine, divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure, the only treasure

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A skyscraping dove

Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door."

(The Power of Love by Frankie goes to Hollywood)

He gently pushed her back, laying her down on the table, so that he was partly leaning on top of her, then proceeded to nuzzle and kiss her neck and collarbone, causing her to utter a tiny whimper as his touch sent shivers of delight through her body. "You know it murders me to see you looking so sad," he whispered through her fur, "please tell me there is something I can do to make you happy again?" Lying helpless on the table with her legs dangling over the edge, she caressed his ears, as he moved further down, searching for her pleasure spots and making her moan and arch her back when he found them. She couldn't stop her lips from smiling, even as her teardrops fell from the corners of her eyes and splashed onto the thick oak table. Slowly, he made his way back up to find them and kissed her deeply, while she held onto him and wound her legs around his waist, feeling him enter her again as she gathered his body into hers, yearning for him. Needing him. They both sighed as they came together, reaching out to find happiness and finding paradise within each other, while their bodies responded by building to a climax, before sending signals tumbling like bricks in space and they fell against each other, exhausted. He lifted his head from where it nestled in the space at the base of her neck, kissed her again, and then gazed deep into her blue eyes. "I sense that you are still not happy," he said, sternly. "Tell me what is troubling you!" She tried to avoid his eyes, but it was difficult, seeing as he was staring right into her face.
