Lost Boy

'Close your eyes sweetie,'
A mother told her son.
'Momma?'
The little boy called out.

The little boy,
So bright and happy,
Isn't in the inside.
He is filled with emptiness.
Always wondering why she left.
Did he do something wrong?
Was it something he said?
Questions filled his mind.

Maybe simply she didn't love him.
Maybe he never deserved to see the world.
Everything was too complicated for him to understand.
It wasn't him.
It was her.

He didn't know that,
As he looked behind the mirror.
That smile that fooled everyone,
Thinking he was okay.
Depression filled him,
Nobody could fill the empty void he had.
He was a hopeless cause.

'Goodbye friends.'
