The music store was everything I could hope for. Fenders lining the walls. They were hung with such care. I walked along the wall my eyes glued on the guitars. I had wondered off from the group to explore last I saw them they were over by the drums. I admire a red Fender Telecaster. It seemed to glimmer in the light. I looked at it in aw. "You know when you start playing guitar it doesn't just become a hobby. It becomes part of you. The guitar is like an extra limb," I jumped as I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to see the soft glittering smile of Markus. I smiled.
"Maybe I want it to be part of me," I cheered. He walked up next to me looking up at the Fender. He smiled.
"It's a beautiful guitar," he stated simply,"This reminds me of when I got my first fender."
"Hmm," I hummed starring up at the guitar. Markus smiled and grabbed the guitar off the rack. He sat down on a stool and plugged it into one of the amps you were aloud to test. He took my hand and pulled me next to him. He let go of my hand ,and began play some chords to Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses. He was humming along to the chorus as his hands skillfully played the lead guitar parts. I was in aw. His hand glided down the neck of the guitar with ease. I smiled ,and continued to watch him play. He came to the end of the song and finished up the remaining chords then looked up at me.
"What did you think?" He asked his eyebrows slightly raised.
"I think I'm going to have an amazing guitar teacher," I giggled.
"Thanks. So do you want this guitar?" He asked.
"I think I would like to learn how to play on it." I smiled ,and took the guitar out of his hand. He unplugged it. He looked down at his feet and grinned.
"I think we should get back to the others," he got up and scratched the back of his neck.
"Yeah," I said hugging my new telecaster,"I'm going to go pay for this."
"I'll meet you back by the drums?" He quizzed.
"Totally," I smiled making my way to the back of the store to the register. I was greeted by a middle aged women with tattoos and black hair she smiled.
"A Telecaster is that all for today?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'll come back another time for an amp,"I smiled handing her the guitar.
She rung it up and put it in a fabric guitar case."You're total will be $230.00," she smiled handing me the guitar. I fished out my wallet and handed her the money I had been saving from things like chores, summer jobs, and babysitting. "Have a nice night," She smiled.
I smiled ,and waved walking off with my new found treasure. I walked to the corner of the store where I spotted a ginger main. Megan turned and smiled,"Markus told us you got your first guitar congrats."
"Thanks," I said. I looked behind her to see Karmin sitting at a drum set talking to Markus. He noticed I was staring and looked in my direction.
"Congrats," he said sharply looking away.
"Thank you," I smiled a genuine smile.
"So, do you need an amp? cause I see you didn't purchase on," Markus asked.
"Yeah I actually do," I said slugging the guitar case over my shoulder.
"I have an old fender amp that works that I don't need anymore. You can keep it," Markus said coolly. Megan just rolled her eyes.
"Thank you Markus," I smiled.
"Can we go to the pet store now?" Karmin questioned Markus.
"Sure thing bro." He begun walking out. We all followed suit. Me and Megan were play fighting while Markus and Karmin were making small talk. I had Megan in a headlock when we arrived at the pet store. It had puppies in the window and a couple cats too. Karmin walked in looking at the cats. A lady who worked there was holding one so people could pet it. It was a white kitten with brown spots all over it. Megan was laughing at Karmin as he played with the cat.
Markus nudged me,"See? I told you he isn't so bad." I just hummed in response. Karmin was ignoring us as he petted the small feline. The cat jump on his shoulder ,and Karmin simply laughed at the tiny animals playfulness.
Karmin picked the cat up from his shoulder and handed it to the lady. "Thank you,"he said going back to his cold expression.
He walked off the cat meowing to him."Why, don't you just adopt the damn thing already?" Megan asked.
"My mom will flip if I bring that kitten home, and plus I turn 18 next month so I can't right now," He said glancing back at the cat. I just giggled. He rolled his eyes and ignored every ones snarky comments. This is a soft side our group didn't see that often. He was mostly cold and serious.
"You come here every Friday to look at that damn kitten. You have bonded you should be aloud to have it," Megan stated bluntly.
"Yeah, maybe one day," he said. He started walking out of the store. Markus followed. Me and Megan walked out shortly after.
"Home?" Markus asked.
"Yeah," Me and Megan said in unisen.
"Can I sleepover? I don't feel like going home," Karmin shrugged.
"Sure thing," Markus said. With that we all left the mall ,and headed for the honda.
