*ring* *ring*
"Ugh!" I said waking up to the sound of my alarm clock.
"It can't be 7:oo already" I said while hitting the the clock. I bolted downstairs to see my mom cooking my favourite....... pancakes with maple syrup and a tall glass of my regular chocolate smoothie.
"Happy birthday, baby giiiiiiiirl!" my mom yelled while holding the dish of pancakes in front of me.
"I'm not a baby mom, I'm 16 years old, by the way, where's dad?"
"Oh, he had to leave for work early today because of his promotion." She replied
"Dad got a promotion!?!?" I said in disbelief
"Yeah, didn't we tell you?"
"Ah, no, I wouldn't have been asking if I knew" I replied knowing that the reason they forgot to tell me was because they were arguing.... as usual.
"Oh, I have a surprise for yoooouuuu!" She said changing the subject
"What kind of surprise? wait, don't tell me, it's a.... puppy, no no no, it's a ticket to that concert my friends were talking about"
"You got one of them right." she answered
"So there's more than one surprise?!" I asked very excited.
Mom covered my eyes with her hands and telling from the smell I knew we were in the garage. Thoughts were rushing through my head.I began wondering what the hell we were doing in the garage, maybe it was a car or something..... pft, like mom would ever buy me a car
"You ready?" mom asked
"Yeah, I guess" I replied getting impatient
"So, you have your drivers license, right?" said mom.
"What the hell, shut up, shut up!!" I squealed. She removed her hands and to my surprise it was a BMW...... What the fuck!!!
"Mom, mom? what the hell is that!?" I sad staring at the bright red car.
"It's your new car..... well, it's your first car, so, it's your first car!!!" she said holding her hands out for a hug
I hugged her with tears in my eyes, I pushed her off ruining the moment.
"Wait, how'd you guys afford this?" I said curious.
"Well, me and your dad have been saving some money over the years." she said
I turned around and saw a peice of paper in the windshield. "What's that?" I said while walking up to car. I took the paper out and it said happy birthday Addison, love Suzanne and Craig. The paper was wrapped around two tickets to the boy band concert my best friend said she was going to this weekend. I squealed and said "Mom, you are best, this is the best birthday ever!! I almost don't care if I don't get a party!!"
Mom looked at me with a smirk on her face.
"No way, unbelievable, I'm getting a party too!? mom, you are the best.
*squeal* "Damn, I feel like a princess right now!"
"Hurry up and get ready for school or you're gonna be late." mom said.
*gasp*
"School! I totally forgot..... can't wait to drive up on the campus and see my friends freak out!" *squeal"
*sniff*
"You need a bath, Addy.... and fast." said my mom pinching her nose.
*sniff*
"You're right, ima go get ready now."
I always sweat when I'm excited, I know, it's weird, but that's how it is, just have to accept it and move on.
I hurriedly went upstairs and took a bath, brushed my teeth and put on the clothes I planned to wear today.
After applying my makeup, I hurried downstairs right past our dog. I stopped and turned back lowering myself to our dog's level, then I said "Heeyyyy Louis...... aww, you look hungry.... let me get your dog food"
I went into the cupboard and took out half empty bag of dog food. I fed Louis and walked walked into the garage, opened the door and........"Oh shit, mom has the keys to the car" I said.
I went back into the living room, past the kitchen and went straight into mom's room, but she wasn't there. So I went back into the walkway, looked around the house and called "Mom? mom? mom?!" getting louder and louder. I rushed out the front door and looked out into the yard.
I turned to the garden and to my relief it was mom watering the plants.
*sigh*
"Thank god, for a second there I thought that you were abducted by aliens" I said in relief.
She replied saying "Seriously, aliens?"
"Aliens........ are real, ok?" I argued being sarcastic
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say hon..... what do you want by the way?" she questioned
"Oh yeah, I need the car keys"
"Oh, they're on the coffee table" she answered
I went back into the house and grabbed the keys and quickly went into the garage, hopped in my brand new car and started her up. The sound of the engine was smooth and soothing. I then drove out onto the road and waved buh bye to mom. She waved back and went inside.
*AT SCHOOL *
I drove up into the parking area and just as I stepped out I saw my best friend Sasha standing as still as a statue with her hands at her jaw looking very shocked.
"Whoa........ where the hell did you pick up a ride like this? damn, girl" Sasha managed to say.
"Oh this beauty? My mom bought it for me"
She walked over and started running her hands all over the car then said "Suzanne ? As in your mom who wouldn't even buy you a smartphone Suzanne and the one who said that....... " But before she finished I cut her off.
"Yes, that Suzanne."
"Shut the fuck up and tell me the truth" she said looking kinda serious.
"No, I stole it from a parking lot" I said sarcastically
"Oh, speaking of parkimg lots, didn't you hear about the fight between Chet and Wally yesterday? It took place right her...... of course they got suspended for five days and such, but the biggest thing part is......... they were fighting over you." she said
"Who me? Chet and Wally? Fight over me? For what?" I asked.
"Don't know, guess we'll have to ask them next Wednesday....... c'mon let's jet...... and you have to let me ride in that mother fucker one day...... maybe even today!" She demanded.
"Ok, I promise you'll get a ride...... or maybe I'll drop you off at home every day"
"Even better!!" She admitted "C'mon, let's get to class, but first I'm gonna stop by Asher's class for........ something "she added
"Ohhhh...... things are getting serious now...... going to his class for........ something." I said with a smile on my face.
She elbowed me and said "Shut the frig up"
It looked like she was smiling, but I didn't say anything, we just walked down the hall as two best friends.
