3 weeks and 2 days
Before the reunion.
After class we went straight home to the apartment, she is now in my room right next to me on the bed, I am on my knees and busy typing on the laptop keyboard in front of me.
After I saved the lesson I did, I got up for a while and put the laptop on the study table and sat back on the bed next to Kate.
*phone ringing..
She just stared at the screen of her phone as it continued to ring.
"Are you really not going to answer that?" I asked.
I saw her sigh.
*phone ringing..
"Answer it!" I said.
She just looked at me for a moment and then just put her phone on her lap.
"So? What's your plan? To avoid him for life? That's it?"
"I don't know, all this time, that, he's just fooling me?"
"So? Are you going to ignore him?"
"what do you want me to do?"
"Talk to him, let him explain first."
"For what? What he says is pure lies, so why? Why should I waste time talking to him?"
"Listen first."
"Beb, you know I have trust issues right? Do you think it's just easy for me?"
*phone ringing..
We looked at each other and heard his phone ringing again.
"Don't tell me, you're just going to stare at that all night long? Come on, talk to him first, Poor David."
I said then i met her gaze turned to me.
"Kate! Don't look at me like that, yes I'm your best friend, but that doesn't mean I'll always be on your side." I said then she started crying again.
Until her phone rang.
"Come on beb, go pick up your phone, talk to him, You have nothing to lose if you give david a chance and if you listen to him."
"But--"
"No but's! Go answer it! Go!" I cut off what she was about to say.
She took a deep breath before swiping the screen of her phone to answer, in a loud speaker.
(Hey? Still mad at me?) David answered worriedly, Kate covered her mouth to stop her sobbed.
(Please! Babe? Talk to me first please?) david plead, Kate just kept on silence.
(I don't intend to keep it a secret from you, I don't intend to fool you, it's just that, I was just led by my fear.) David said from the other line.
(Babe, please don't do this, please? Please speak up.) David suddenly stopped talking, then a long silence took over, after that we heard a soft sob from the other line.
(Babe, don't do this please? I love you, I-I really do.) his voice started to tremble.
(I'm going to end this call, but I won't stop making a way to talk to me first, I love you.) after that phone call, Kate kept crying, I immediately rubbed her back.
"You're so narrow-minded, beb, you're so hard headed to coax.. 😏 " I said.
"Huhuhu 😭😭 yes, we both are hard headed."
"That's why we're best friends."
Then we laughed together.
