"And remember when we spent the night at the cafe?"

"There were customers knocking on the door and I looked like a mess."

"You didn't look that bad."

"Oh please,I was drooling, snoring, and my hair looked like a bird's nest."

"True."

Lydia laughed and smacked my arm."Hey,you said it.Not me."I put my hands up in mock surrender.

I pushed myself off the living room couch."You thirsty?"Lydia offered,also getting up."You got hot chocolate?"I smiled."Lydia rolled her eyes."When don't I?"

I raced her upstairs, sliding past the library into the kitchen.I almost crashed into the kitchen table, stopping myself with the chair before sitting down."Are you gonna help?"Lydia walked into the kitchen and got the hot chocolate powder."Oh yeah."I ran to the cabinets and got two mugs, then sat back at the table, smiling.Lydia rolled her eyes. She brought the hot chocolate over to the table after grabbing some marshmallows."So,what's new?"I put a marshmallow in my mug and sipped my drink."Not much."She paused and tilted her head."Oh yeah,my cousin's coming to live with me for a three months."I almost choked on my drink,"Cousin?!"She nodded her head."You don't know him.Trevor's his name."She sipped her hot chocolate."When exactly is he coming?"I asked."He should be here by Saturday."She announced.I drank the last of my hot chocolate then got up and rinsed my empty mug out in the sink,"So how old is he,like ten?"I guessed."Actually-"Lydia was interrupted by her doorbell downstairs, which she had gotten to play the Super Mario theme all through the house. She bounced down the steps, humming along with it.She looked out the peephole and squealed before opening the door. There stood a guy holding a suitcase and a duffel bag."Trevor!"She jumped and hugged him."Lydia!"He mocked her peppiness."She stopped hugging him and hit his arm."Meanie.."She mumbled."What are you doing here? You were supposed to be here on Saturday."He stepped in and Lydia shut the door."I found a earlier flight and I thought I'd surprise you."He smiled."So,where do I put this?"He held up his bags."Follow me."She led him upstairs as I followed."In here."She pushed open a dark blue door to a room."If you're hungry I can-" "No,no,I'm fine.Just tired. Can I sleep?"He asked."Well,it is getting late.I guess we should all be getting to bed.Night."Lydia and I left the room."I'm gonna head to bed.You can help yourself to anything in the fridge."Lydia hugged me."Night." "Night."I called as she walked down the hall to her room.I walked down the stairs to the guest room that Lydia insisted was mine.I got into my pajamas and curled up in the bed, drifting to sleep.

I woke up in a cold sweat. The room was pitch black, except for the blinking alarm clock, signaling that it was 4:43am.I slipped the covers off of my skin and put my leopard print slippers.I stepped outside of the room, looking down the hall before fumbling upstairs to the kitchen.I grabbed a bottle of water and took a sip.Gosh, that dream was weird.I turned around and ran into something.I saw Trevor standing in a white t-shirt and black sweatpants."Fancy meeting you here."He opened the fridge and took out a water."How do you know Lydia?"He untwisted the cap on his bottle and took a swig."She's my friend.I'm Jessica,by the way."I shook hands with him."So,what are you doing up?" "I was thirsty."He shook his bottle."You?" "Nightmares."I sighed."Aww,what about?"He asked.

I was hoping you wouldn't ask that.

I couldn't tell him my dream. It had Elsie and Mom.He couldn't know about that.I'd blow my cover and for sure would be killed.

"I was being chased by....spiders."I lied,"I hate spiders."

He nodded his head,"Me too. Those things are creepy.Well,it was nice meeting you Jessica."He waved heading for his room."You too,Trevor."I walked back to my room and went to sleep.
