Phoenix POV

"Are you two ok?" Blaze asked as soon as Jesse and I walked through the front door. "You've been acting really sketchy for weeks."

I glanced over at Jesse in time to see him roll his eyes before telling her that we were fine. The last few weeks had been bordering on torture but neither of us were quite ready to tell them yet.

"She's right. What's going on with you two?" Luke chimed in from where he was sat on the sofa. All I could do was laugh and tell them that they were being ridiculous.

The two of us went into the kitchen to get something to eat as we'd missed lunch. I was looking in the fridge to see if anything caught my eye when Jesse snaked his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.

"You know we'll have to tell them eventually." I rolled my eyes and grabbed some stuff to make a sandwich. Just as I was about to get myself out of his hold, he rested his hands on my stomach and murmured softly against my ear "You're not gonna be able to hide this forever Princess."

I knew that he was right but I didn't want to risk jinxing it.

We'd only found out that I was pregnant around a month or so ago and I was paranoid that something would happen again like with Nevaeh. Jesse kept telling me that everything would be fine and telling our friends and family that we were expecting a baby wasn't going to change that.

We'd been to a scan today and my heart had been in my throat the entire time until we were told that everything looked fine. Although, even then, I still felt on edge.

"Jesse, I-"

Before I could finish speaking, I was spun round and Jesse was holding my face in his hands.

"I know you're scared Princess, I am too. You heard what the doctor said today. Everything is fine. Telling people isn't going to change that." He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and gently swept his lips across my own. "But if you really want to wait a bit longer then that's fine by me. Whatever makes you happy, baby girl. You just need to understand that we can't keep this a secret for long. They're already suspicious that somethings going on. Plus, you're starting to show."

My icy glare shot to him at his words and a flash of fear crossed his face.

"Are you saying I'm fat?"

"No, Phoenix. I'm just saying that our little one seems pretty keen to make his or her presence known." At the mention of our baby, a small smile teased my lips and I couldn't help but rest my hands over the barely there bump. Jesse's hands covered my own and pressed a light kiss to the top of my head. "I love you, Princess."

Lifting my head at his words so I was looking him in the eye, I smiled and kissed him softly. A sigh escaped him as he trailed his hands up my body until they were in my hair. With a tilt of his head, Jesse deepened the kiss and pulled me impossibly closer. One hand stayed in my hair while the other clutched onto my hip.

My hands were rested on his solid chest when somebody cleared their throat behind us. Jesse ripped his mouth from mine and whipped his head round to see who had interrupted us. Blaze was leaning against the doorframe, smirking over at us.

"If you two are finished mauling each other, we were all gonna head out to the beach if you wanna come with us."

Knowing that I wasn't going to be able to go to the beach in the baggy t-shirt of Jesse's that I was currently wearing without having a million questions fired my way, I made some excuse about not feeling very well. It technically wasn't a lie, but it wasn't necessarily the complete truth. Using my own excuse to give himself one, Jesse said that he was planning on staying here with me so he could make sure I was ok.
