5 months later...
Arriving at the campus early, Wooseok went to the registrar's office right away looking down on the floor. He transferred schools because of the accident. He survived but had a permanent damage on his joints that he can no longer play basketball and hockey any longer.
His mother got depressed and couldn't go to work anymore. Everything was taken away from him. His sports and activities, his friends, and his brother.
It's been 5 months but nobody can recover a loss, especially Wooseok who's last words with his brother is that he wanted him gone. He's been receiving therapy until now. He wasn't supposed to back to school but it was his decision that they allowed him to.
Today is first time to be outside the house after 5 months.
"Good Morning, how may I help you." The registrar asked.
"I'm here to get my schedule and my locker combination." Wooseok said weakly.
"Kim Minkyu! Help the new student please. Also, please help him find his classroom so he won't get lost."
"Yes Miss Seulgi." A tall and handsome guy stood before Wooseok, towering him. "Good Morning, I'm Kim Minkyu, student prefect. Thank you for wearing the right uniform right away. I appreciate it since not everybody abides by the rules in this campus." He said before shaking Wooseok's hand. Nobody really knows Wooshin in this place since it's Busan. He used to live in Seoul.
Nobody knows that he was involved in his brother's accident since he was kept anonymous for privacy reasons. Everybody can treat him normally in this school.
"I'm Kim Wooseok. Nice to meet you Minkyu." He accepted the handshake and tried to fake a smile like he always does. Except it was far more complicated now.
How can you force a smile after losing your brother. The only person that care for you inside a god forsaken house.
"I'll show you where the lockers are, firstly. You're lucky you came in early. The halls get pretty crowded easily during free time." Minkyu explained. His voice was just how a student prefect would sound like. He looks decent with his uniform even though Wooshin was certain that his uniform was also ironed neatly and to perfection.
Despite that, it still looks better on Minkyu.
"I must warn you Wooseok, this school is 70% filled with all the rejects in ever other school. It's like they are all gathered in one place as soon as they get expelled from their past schools. There are few good people, just 10% of the scale, but you would never speak to them because they only study. The remaining 20% are the famous once. You look like you would fit in that category. You're visuals are on point." Minkyu pointed out which gave Wooseok back a tiny bit of his confidence.
At some point he also smiled when he recalled that that was who he is in his past school.
"Whatever you do, you need to avoid me. I have responsibilities and studies. I can't be friends with anyone if I'm going to write their names on the logbook of misbehaving students." Minkyu smiled. His smile was innocent and sincere. His words are sincere.
He must be one of those studious students who can't afford to be distracted because they have a a certain grade to maintain.
"I don't appreciate being called 'teacher's pet' or traitor so I'd rather have no friends at all. I accepted my role and I will do it properly." He said then showed Wooseok his locker, gesturing at it. "Go ahead and try the combination."
The combination worked, but there are still some books inside the locker. He grabbed them and red to whom it belongs too. "Jeon Somi." He glanced at Minkyu in confusion. "Someone left their things in here." He said as he scanned one be one all the books. They aren't academic books. They're a bunch of old novels.
