After reading the missing pages from that notebook, I felt completed. I felt like Augustus still lived. I felt that Augustus was with me as I read those pages.
I went back downstairs and my mom was in the living room siting down on the couch watching something on tv.
"Hey there Hazel"
"Hi mom"
"Anything new?", she asked in a curious tone.
"Actually yeah, Lidewij sent me a letter Augustus had sent Van Houten." I said in the merge of tears.
"Lidewij??" Replied mom.
"Peter Van Houten's assistant"
"Oh yeah. I forgot. Sorry"
"Yea..."
"What does this letter say? I mean I could tell it means a lot to you because you look like you are about to cry"
I took her up to my room and showed her the letter. All she said was wow. I mean all I said after I read it was wow too. But wow. I could tell my mom didn't know what to say..she just sat there in my bed as I tried to catch my breath.
"What do you want for dinner honey?" She said breaking the silence.
"Can we order pizza?"
"Yeah. Why not."
So that night we ate pizza and used napkins as plates.
