Emma's POV

The bus finally arrived after what seemed like forever. I was kinda quiet because I was listening to music with my Turquoise Beats Studio's. I played my favorite songs off of my playlist, which was Pumped Up Kicks, Sleeping In, Riptide, High Highs, Stay (Trap Remix) and the whole Neighborhood album. I was only about halfway through my playlist when I got a text. It was from my mom's number. I decided to look at it. When I read it my heart dropped. I swear I would have bursted out in tears right there if I were any other girl, but I wasn't. I was tough. I had to be. I was a fighter. Just like my Dad is. Or should I now say "was". He's battled to long and he lost his battle.

We had a very strong relationship. I started thinking of all of our memories.

How he always called me a different nick name, how we would always watch soccer together each morning. This made me smile.

And before I knew it, I was crying. Actually I wasn't crying, I was balling. My two best friends on my team were the first to notice.

Maddie and Bryce came over and hugged me. Maddie was a striker, she was always starting and she was always positive. She was about 5'4, which for a highschooler is very short. Maddie was very pretty aswell. She had very long, blonde hair, huge light blue eyes, a tiny fatigue, and a perfect body. She also ran track because of her speed. She didn't have a boyfriend because she didn't need one, though, she could take anyone in our school.

Bryce was a defender, also known as a keepers best friend. Bryce had long brown hair, she was 5'9 which was pretty tall. She had a boyfriend, who was my 7th grade crush. He turned out pretty dang good. She was one of our best players. She was a Junior though, but I was like her baby sister she never had.

Well, there I was, balling my eyes out, sitting on a bus, two people holding me who didn't even know what was going on. We made a scene. The whole team was asking what was wrong and trying to help but Maddie and Bryce told them I needed some space, which I did.

Nash came over, and tapped me on the shoulder. I whipped my eyes and turned around. He mouthed out the words. "You okay?". I didn't respond.

He understood and walked back to his seat. It was nice to know a male actually took any notice in me whatsoever, better yet cared how I was feeling. The thought made me smile.

"Why you smiling?" Asked Bryce, smirking.

"Ahh nothing." I breathed out.

The bus stopped, and with that, I stopped.

I realized something.

I needed somebody to love. All this time I had been putting love to the side, but I need this. Now that my dad is probably gone, I needed comfort. I needed to smile. I needed to feel things I had never felt.

I needed Nash Grier.
