You are there when everyone leaves
Reaching out your hands, to wipe away my tears
You either hug me or let me lean on your shoulder
All these you do, just to make me feel better

In times of conflict, you're there to advise
In times of adversity, you're there, very wise
you lift me up in times of trouble
you hear my grievances until I sober
Because you're a counselor ... for me you cheer
You give me care and affection I need
like a flower during spring that blooms from a seed
you turn my days so bright with your smile so sweet
your loving words, I do always want to heed
Because you're a lover ... you make my life complete
Without you, in this world, I wouldn't be
the beautiful things around me, I wouldn't see
you led me to the right path I'm now taking
and you still secure my safety without hesitating
