September 7th
On Thursday morning I make my way over to the studio with mixed feelings. Initially, I'd been quite excited about doing the interview, since I was happy with my questions and Robert had just about written me a eulogy after having read them. But now that it was almost time, I felt sick with nerves. It wasn't because of whom I'd be interviewing, and since I'm quite used to uploading parts of my life to the internet, I couldn't quite put my finger on the source of my nerves.
I take a deep breath when I finally reach the studio, standing outside the door for a few seconds before going in. I briefly wonder to myself if word will get out about Harry being here, and if it does, how I'll deal with that. If there's a hidden way out in the back of the studio, I'll be sure to go that way. But if there isn't I'll have to fight my way through a crowd of people, which doesn't really appeal to me. I've seen quite some footage of One Direction fans losing it and doing just about anything to get close to one of the members, and I really don't fancy myself getting caught in something like that.
The door suddenly swings open, interrupting my train of thoughts. "I thought I saw someone familiar hovering in front of the door. Come on in, Mr. Styles has already arrived." Robert says, signalling me to follow him inside.
I hang my coat over one of the chairs in the studio, taking in my surroundings as I do so. The layout is quite simple, with just two chairs positioned across from each other with the pretty standard white background. Straight across from the two seats is the tripod on which I still need install my camera. The lighting has already been installed, and I wonder how terrible I'll look under such bright lights.
"Brooke, I'd like you to meet Hugo," Robert then continues, introducing me to a man with a grey goatee, roughly the same age as himself. "He's on Mr. Styles' security team and I invited him today since he's experienced with setting up cameras properly for high profile interviews, so you don't have to worry about that yourself."
"It's nice to meet you," I say, politely shaking his hand. "Thank you for helping out today."
"It's no problem, Robert and I go way back," he replies, clapping him on the back. "Harry's in the press room with his manager Jeffrey, but he should be out any minute."
As if it had been planned, the door to the press room swings open not two seconds later and Harry walks out. I'm surprised at the fact that he's by himself, until I remember Hugo's his security guard.
"Mr. Styles!" Robert exclaims, heading over to him and shaking his hand. "I can't thank you enough for making the time to join us here today. I know you're a busy man, so this means a lot."
"It's honestly no problem, sir," Harry replies, as Robert leads him over to one of the seats on the set.
"Please, call me Robert. We're going to try to keep this interview as relaxed as possible, so there's just one camera across from your seats." Robert explains to him, and I can't help but listen to him instead of Hugo, who's rambling on about the ISO settings on my camera.
He catches my attention again when he tells me to take the seat next to Harry and introduce myself before the cameras start rolling. "I need to discuss a few things with Robert before setting this thing up," he continues, gesturing at my camera, before signalling Robert to come back, who's still excitedly chatting away to Harry.
I slowly make my way over to the set, Robert discreetly giving me the thumbs up as he passes me on his way back to Hugo. I smile at Harry as we lock eyes. "Hello, I'm Brooke Dawson." I say, shaking his hand. "It's lovely to meet you. Thank you for doing this."
"Don't worry about it. My sister's obsessed with your blog," he replies randomly. "If I'd have told her you were the famous blogger interviewing me, she'd probably have followed me here to get a glimpse of you,"
