"Shinya would you mind shutting up? You're always so goddamn annoying!" Guren yelled.

That night was supposed to be a fluffy night, filled with cuddles and wine and maybe even some sex.

But, it turned out to be a night of misery.

Shinya had been doing his usual thing; annoying Guren as how a lover would do to his boyfriend.

Oblivious to Shinya, however, Guren had been very annoyed by his actions.

Which leaded up to his outburst.

"G-Guren... I'm--" Shinya tried to apologise, but was rudely cut off by Guren.

"You're always doing this! You're always annoying me with your stupid teases unbeknownst to my emotions. I've had enough of that, Shinya."

"Guren--"

"Sometimes I wish you'd just go away and stop disturbing me!" Guren yelled, but immediately felt bad about it.

He didn't mean to make Shinya feel inferior and he didn't mean to make Shinya feel sad about what he'd said.

But Shinya didn't falter; he was trained not to ever falter.

"I wish that were the case..." Shinya smiled his cheeky smile at Guren, but Guren knew it was his default. His default whenever he was about to breakdown, his default whenever he was about to cry, his default whenever he was about to die.

--

Guren was being controlled by the vampires. As much as he hated the fact, the knew he had no power against them that could break their powerful puppet-like control.

However, in the time he was being controlled, the one and only command he had was

"Kill Hiragi Shinya."

It was weird.

If the vampires wanted to win the war quickly and efficiently, they would have sent Guren to kill the Seraph.

But instead, they sent him to kill Shinya.

Someone who wasn't the strongest.

Someone who wasn't the most helpful.

Someone who wasn't the brightest.

Guren, under the control of the vampires, had no option but to search and scavenge for him.

When Guren finally found him, he was aiming his rifle at a noble vampire at the top of a building.

"Shinya..." He growled out and he launched himself at his direction.

"Guren?" Shinya questioned, but it was too late.

Guren's sword had stabbed through the neatly-pressed bloodstained uniform that Shinya was wearing, and it stabbed through his stomach.

"Gu--!" Shinya choked out, as blood started streaming down his chin and dripping not-so-gracefully onto the ground he laid on.

At that moment, Guren was released from his trance; hand still onto the blade that was still in Shinya's stomach, looking down at his beloved.

"Shin... ya...?" Guren breathed a breath of shock and disbelief.

"H-hey... Guren..." Shinya smiled.

"No...No --Shinya..!"

"I guess... you got what you wanted... huh..? When you said you wanted me... Gone..." Shinya spoke heavily, swallowing the lump that formed in his throat.

"I didn't mean--" Guren couldn't finish his sentence as Shinya started coughing up more blood what splattered onto the ground next to him.

"Hey..." Shinya smiled brightly as what he would consider his "Sun".

By now, Guren's knees had given way and was now kneeling next to Shinya, hands grasping onto Shinya's limp one.

"I love you... I want you to know that... Even if you never loved me, I want you to know that I will never be able to forget you..." Shinya laughed pathetically, before continuing. "That might come as a burden to you... Sorry... But I want you to find your own happiness. I knew that it was never me; it could never be me. A Hiragi. A filthy creature to the Hiragi ranks and even to society...

"But Guren... You were my light... You were... Are... My everything... And I don't know what I'd do without you..."

"Shinya... Please, just stay with me a little longer. I'll bring you back... I'll give you the right treatment and you'll be healthy again. That way, you can come back to me. Come back to the person you love..." Guren begged, but Shinya shook his head slightly.

"You need to find your own happiness, Guren. I'm not it..."

"No, Shinya please..."

"I love you, Guren. I'm sorry I was so annoying to you... You'll find someone less like me and more like you in the future... I know you will. And when that day comes... Please be happy..." Shinya's breath became shallow as he heard Guren's last words.

"I love you so much... Please don't leave me, Shinya..."

With that, Shinya took his last breath.

That was the end of Hiragi Shinya.

That, too, marked the end of Ichinose Guren.
