"So class, the syllabus is due back by Friday at the latest. 10 points will be deducted after Friday." Ms. Harris said, passing the sheets throughout the class. "Please don't make a simple task hard."
"Why do you need our social security number?" A girl across the classroom, named Paige, asked.
Gia grabbed the sheet that the boy in front of her handed back. Looking for the part that asked for the social security number, knowing already Aria wouldn't sign it.
"It's because this is drivers ed. You will need your social security number to be entered into the dmv." Mrs. Harris said, taking a seat on the stool that sat in the middle of the classroom. "As soon as you turn it in, the social security section will be shredded for safety precautions."
"Okay," Paige nodded, understanding. "But you should know I don't have any credit yet. Just in case you feeling scammy."
The class laughed, making Gia sigh. She was ready for class to end. She had no one to talk to, and group of boys that surrounded her were irritating her.
"So, If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!" Mrs. Harris clasped her hands together, while looking around the classroom. When no one said anything she walked to her desk, taking a seat. "Well if that's the case, you are allowed free time until the lunch bell rings."
Gia took her phone out, instantly going to the message Isaiah sent her 30 minutes ago. He was asking if she was going to the football game on Friday, and if she wanted to have a jersey made for her—with his number on it of course.
She smiled, thinking of how couple-like they would look with matching jerseys. She quickly sent a text back.
Gia
Yes. Of course, why would you even ask? 🙄Isaiah 💙
Just checking, I know you don't even like football, so you probably wouldn't even go to the games.Gia
I'm a cheerleader, of course I'm going to have to stay after the games.. even though I'm on JV.Isaiah 💙
Ok bet, I gotta do this work now.She locked her phone, thinking about how happy he made her. She was new to whole "talking" phase. Being that her parents never really let her do it, and she also wasn't even in much a hurry to do it. But, she was happy that the first person she tried it with was working out nicely.
"Aye," a boy behind her called. "Excuse, ma'am." He kicked her desk, making her snap her head looking back.
"Stop kicking my chair." She glared at him, even more annoyed by him, if possible.
"You got a bug on your shirt!" He yelled, making Gia immediately stand up patting herself all around.
The kids in the classroom quickly diverted their attention to the sudden movement in the area.
"What's going on?!" Mrs. Harris yelled, putting her phone down.
"She got bugs on her!" Daquan, a boy who rode the same bus as Gia yelled. "She got bed bugs!"
"No I do not!" Gia yelled, taking a seat after noticing that there was in fact no bugs on her.
"Please do not disturb the class like that again. You are in high school, act like so." She took out her phone again, making Gia roll her eyes at her.
