I fell into a deep sleep and immediately was overcome with vivid dreams.

~~

In my dream, I was sat is a room lined with dark wood. Swords lined the walls as if they were trophies. In front of me was a large mahogany desk with random bits of gold and jewels scattered around and across what looked like a map.

Different men came in and out the room asking me various miscellaneous questions about god knows what. They all looked rough and ready to pick a fight if given the opportunity. The clothes they wore were ones of commoners and peasants. Some had multiple piercings. Some had tattoos all down their bodies. Some both.

I got up and went to the door and as I did I passed a long floor length mirror. The reflection was not something I had expected. The face was one that belonged to me but not in the state I had come accustomed to. I was tanner than usual and looked slightly dirty. My hair was wild and had it's natural curl, not as kept and combed as mother used to make me keep it, and was wrapped in a ripped red bandana. I wore similar clothes to the ones of the men that had talked to me earlier.

Once I took in my appearance I headed out the large wooden door onto what looked like a deck. For as far as the eye could see was vast stormy grey seas. I neared the edge of the boat to get a better look at what seemed so real. Violent waves whipped up against and splashed onto the ship. The ship!? I was on a ship! But what kind? My eyes traveled up the mast to the very top until my eyes rested on a high waving flag. Black with a skull and cross bones plastered across the front. Pirates.

CRACK!

I abruptly awoke from my sleep from the sound of the thunder clap. I glanced up at the clock on my wall.

7:30

The party was to start in half an hour. I was not looking forward to having to dance and converse with any airhead girls that I might have to marry. I pulled on fresh clothes that were more suited for the occasion and headed down stairs, thoughts of daggers and treasure maps still floating about in my head.
