I yawn,and sit up on the couch.I can hear beeping,and the kind of music you'd hear in an old video game.I look across the small oval table,and see Finn and Jake playing a wierd vidio game consul with arms.
I come over and sit down."Whatchya playin'?"I ask.
"Astro-Blasters.Gotta blow up the moon without dieing before the other player."Finn murmers.
"I'm gonna beat you this time,Finn."Jake says.I watch as his foot extends and tickles Finn.On the small screen,Jake's character comes over and blows up Finn while he's laughing.I laugh too,so is Jake noy,and Tell,who had fluttered to my shoulder,and the gaming consul.I stop,and stare at it.
"Come on dude!No fair!Rematch,no cheating!"Finn says to Jake,determination in his voice.
"Wait,"I say before they start the game."Who's this?"I point at the consul.
"I'm B-Mo!"The consul says."Good to meet you.What's your name?"
I smile at B-Mo."I'm Sentry,this is Tell."I point at the robin.
"Jake,you should let Sentry play.She didn't get a turn yet!"
"Hm,ok,I guess."Jake hands the contoler to me,and I take his spot.
The controller consists of just a joy-stick and red button.I look at my screen,and start moving my character.It seems to be a platform game.I press the red button.It puts down a bomb.I move my character away as it blows up.
I move my joy-stick up,and my character jumps to the top platform.I set a bomb on one side of Finn's character,and another on his left.I move to the edge of the screen.You aren't able to go down with the joy-stick,only through holes left by bombs.The bombs have a 3 second cool down,just so you know.
The bombs explode,and game over appears on Finn's side of the screen.On mine it says winner.
"Wow,first time you ever played,and you beat me!"
I grin."I've played video games before,you know."
"What was the last game you played?"Finn asks.
"Hm...Um...I think it was Plant vs. Zombies on my iPad,actually."I reply.
"What's an iPad?"Jake asks.
"You don't know what an iPad is?Really?"The two shake their heads."Well,it's basicly a screen that you can transport around,and it consists of like a million more pixels than B-Mo.And you can touch it to move it around.I was just playing it to see what older technology feels like,but B-Mo here is the most retro game I've ever played."
"Where'd you get one?Do you have it here?"Finn asks.
I shake my head."Mostly every bit of technology got blown to bits during the war."
"Oh...Wait,the Great Mushroom Wars?You remember the times before it?"Finn quizes.
"Well,yeah."
"I don't...I have no idea what it was like before the war."
My eye brow goes up."Huh.Either you were born after it,or you got all the memory knocked out of you."
"Can we talkabout this later?We gotta eat somethin',then go see Marcaline."Jake says.
Finn sighs."I guess you're right."He gets up,and goes over to their kitchen area and gets an apple.I get a gronola bar out of my bag and eat it."So who's this Marcaline?"I ask.
"Marcaline is the vampire queen,"Jake pauses and looks me up and down."You got something other then red to wear?"
"Yeah,why?"
"Marcaline drinks the color red."
I sigh,and take off my sweatshirt,taking out a white one from my back pack.I put it on,and stand up,retrieving my pack and swinging it onto my back.
"Let's go!"Finn says eagerly.
