I have to talk to you. Meet me at the park.
Rainbow Dash was a little concerned when she received that text from Applejack. The park was where they had confessed their true feelings for each other, nearly three years ago. That was how long they had been dating. Three years ago, Rainbow Dash was a wild and sporty lesbian who was a player among girls at Canterlot High School. Applejack, you could say, had tamed her. She had made Rainbow feel love for the first time. It was true love, as she literally held Rainbow's heart in her hands. And her text scared the living shit out of Rainbow.
~Flashback~
"I. . . I have something that I need to tell you." Applejack's voice shook with nerves.
Rainbow felt her heart skip a beat.
"AJ?"
Applejack looked at her with emerald eyes.
"Let me tell you something first."
"G-go ahead, s-sugar cube."
"I want to be completely honest with you. . ." Rainbow quickly glanced around to see if anyone was watching. They weren't. She placed her hands onto Applejack's slim waist and brought the shorter girl closer.
"D-Dash! What are you doin'?!" Applejack whispered.
Rainbow closed her eyes. She felt tears threatening to make an appearance, which was very unlike her. Where was all of that typical Dash confidence? "I'm sorry! Please forgive me!" She cried before yanking Applejack into a heartfelt and passionate kiss. The country girl blushed hard. Her eyes had widened, her hands were sweating, and her entire body felt like it had turned into jelly. She started kissing Dash back, her arms slithering around the athlete's neck. Rainbow smiled through the kiss and slowly leaned into her, deepening it. Then Applejack suddenly ended the kiss, breaking them apart.
"Whoa there. . .I ain't ready for that now, sugarcube." She murmured, feeling like she had made it awkward. But Rainbow just blushed but kept her arms wrapped around Applejack's neck. "I'm sorry, AJ. . .I just. . .really, really like you," she apologized quietly.
AppleJack smiled. "Don't worry. . .I like you too. . ."
Both girls smiled and held each other, keeping the embrace for at least five minutes.
"But there's something else. . ." Dash admitted.
"Say it, sugarcube."
"You are my best friend, Applejack. For a whole year now, I've felt something weird around you — like electricity. I wanted to know what it was, but I couldn't figure it out on my own. So, I went to speak with Fluttershy." Dash reached out and took hold of Applejack's hand. "She told me that it was love. I'm in love with you. As soon as I realized this, I wanted desperately to hold you, to hug you, to kiss you and to make you happy. But most importantly. . .I wanted to call you mine. I want to be here beside you when you make choices — I've seen you struggling at what choices you're going to make. I want to help you. I guess that what I'm saying is. . .I like you more than a friend. Applejack, I love you."
Applejack instinctively reached for Rainbow and hugged her. Rainbow willingly hugged back. "I love you too!" She confessed. As she pulled away, she tucked a strand of multicoloured hair behind Rainbow's ear. Rainbow lifted Applejack's hand up to her blue lips and kissed it. They both smiled shyly at each other.
