Imagine a perfectly normal day.

Common storms, common thunder.

Series of common events, one after the other.

A continuous chain.

Repeated, over and over; an endless loop.

But then a smart strike in the link, and the entire process is broken. The chain breaks, and the two pieces of one link fall opposite directions. Sparks fly, and both broken ends fall.

The winged creature that fell from the sky was that strike in the chain, the red and gray scales that's adorned the beast's neck, the black needle-like claws, the burning wings that appeared as a falling sun.

Imagine the shock to an onlooker.

Their loop suddenly broken by this magnificent creature, the fire reflected in their eyes. The sleek scales, the electric sparks flying in the cloud of dust blown up by its fall. All the wispy flames flicking out by the impact.

Imagine the dent, the break, that would leave in their chain.

Imagine the dent it left in Quinn's mile long chain.

Quinn's eyes aflame at the sight.

The beautiful creature withering in the purest form of pain and agony, its wings slamming into the burning grass, the dying purple flowers. It's giant blue eyes stare into Quinn's very own soul, a sharp blue dagger flying miles away into her ones brown untouched.

An emotional wave of helplessness and pity wash Quinn, and without a second thought she starts to grind her feet into the earth sprinting to the creature. Leaping over small hills, flying across the just uneven ground under the raging ocean if clouds.

Quinn decided she would save the creature at that very moment.

No not a creature.

Not a beast.

One only spoken of in legends from the big cities, the land beyond the field, the small town, a species so respected and acknowledged far and wide.

The powerful lizard-like body, adorned with shining scales, spikes protruding from its spine, blazing blue eyes, and wings solarge they could covered her house 10 times over.

A dragon was there in her until just now uneventful life.

A dragon.
