chapter 4: We meet again

M/N's POV:

I awoke to the sound of rumbling from footsteps outside my cave. Knowing this was simply my prey foolishly wandering about, I played no mind to it.

It was just about dawn and the pink and orange hues of the morning sun decorated the skies. Oh how I missed looking up at this sky. It used to be nothing more than a granite colour with solemn looking clouds rolling over, but now that the great war had finished, the area no longer looked desolate and plain.

As I got up from my dreamless sleep, I debated whether or not to travel back into human territory to collect my treasure but in the end realised it was pointless for the only thing I had in mind anymore was to call my kin, but I was too weak.

After a while of just sitting there internally arguing with myself, I finally decided to roam the forest which my new cave was set in. The forest was filled with life, but none of the magical sort. I discovered none of my kin sleeping there nor any of the forest protector's. I shrugged, they're probably off in there own little world...

Timeskip:

It had been about an hour science I had woken up and I was just about to lose hope in finding any creature which could be of use to me.

Hiding within the bushes, I decided it was time to feed so I sneaked up upon the similar human being but bigger and jumped on top of it, digging my sharp teeth and claws into its weak body. Once I finished feasting on that one, I went around killing a few more to make me feel superior and rub it in the other giants faces. Though I doubt they understood much considering they just ran away screaming then went back to normal afterwards.

Dragging the last giants corpse back into the forest, I quickly devoured it until there was nothing more than a head, having no interest in eating such a foul looking face, I climbed up a tree larger than the rest and was about to dispose of the head there until seeing the familiar faces of the two humans I met with when escaping from my former cave. They didn't seem to notice my presence until I dropped the head right in front of them. Looking up, their faces immediately twisted into one of shock and fear, the expressions I loved to be greeted with so much, and backed away slightly.

Not appreciating being followed, I growled and hissed at the two small creatures, but they did nothing but stand there in their traumatized state like they did two days ago.

Becoming more than angry, I jumped down and faced them growling then finally screeching at them to leave. My purple acid spit slightly hitting their faces and clothes, burning it. Deep within my throat I felt the bubbling of my acid fire come along, so I opened my mouth again, presenting my ever so fabulous teeth and allowed the purple plasma like substance to bubble up into a ball of energy inside my throat. It made a weird buzzing sound as I was ready to fire but just then the two shakily scrambled up onto their horses, the female screaming, and rode away. I hesitated for a bit but didn't stop and suddenly breathed out my fiery purple acid, it melted the ground around me and towards the duo, spreading its large flames across the borders of the forest.

What a magnificent sight I thought as I got back up from my crouching position and trotted away only to be stopped by an incoming of men on horseback. Growling, I turned to face them only to see them riding straight towards me. Suicidal bastards...I groaned and quickly breathed a ring of acid fire around me to stop the men from getting any closer.

The team of what seemed to be adventurers halted and stared at my form with incredulous eyes. Who I supposed to be the commander trotted forward up until he could no more. Glaring at me slightly, he breathed in then shouted at the top of his voice;
