 "The Lenoir Police Department says it is investigating after a handwritten threat was found in a bathroom at Hibriten High School.

The note was found Thursday in a male restroom. Officers spent the night searching the school and classes were held Friday.

Police and school officials remind students that making a threat of violence towards a school is a felony.

“Threats of any kind and possession of weapons of any type will not be tolerated,” said Superintendent Dr. Steve Stone. “All threats, even ones that are casually said or passed off as a prank, will be immediately investigated and prosecuted aggressively.”

School officials said extra police officers were on hand at Hibriten High Friday and the school was operating in a "soft lockdown" status, meaning all outside activity is suspended and exterior and classroom doors remain locked."

I don't think many of y'all know that I live in North carolina, Lenoir and there have been some "Copy cats" lately about school shootings. I know this isn't anyone on here but if the person responsible is on here because you never know, you need to be ashamed of yourself. Sure this happened a few days ago but that doesn't matter. Imagine the tough decision kids had to live through Friday the first deciding to whether come to school or stay home and I say tough because they never know what they will be expecting when they get to school. I hadn't heard about 'til some 8th grader on the bus said 'Uh some kids got arrested for threatening the school and stuff.'
If I had heard about it when I was getting ready for school I would have stayed home and luckily we are all safe because of the extreme saftey laws my school has been making.
