Chapter 1~
The smell of paper escapes from the pages. I push my glasses up back up my nose, and I do a quiet sniffle. My eyes move slowly across the book, taking in all the words. I grasp the edge of "Allegiant" trying to hold back my emotions from the powerful text. I cannot with stand the feels, so I close the book shut, and walk way. I close the library door as I step out into the hallway.
"Hey Kayla wait up!" Liv yelled to me. I keep walking, not wanting to speak with her. "Missed lunch again reading those "books" why do u freakin shut the world out with these?" Liv continues, and picks up one of my books. "Leave me alone.." I respond, trying to get through Liv. She steps off to the side, and I run down the hallway, leaving my book behind.
The rest of the day, I spend doodling in my notebook, blocking out all noise from the teachers. "Why is Liv such a piece of crap.. She never leaves me alone." I think to myself. She is such a huge bully, never accepts anyone for who they are. I keep doodling.~
This is the end of Chapter 1! Sorry it is so short! I am not really a writer and this is my first story! But thank you for your support! 🌞
Chapter 2~
I walk slowly home, reading the end of Allegiant. Tears start rushing down my face. "NOO! THIS CAN NOT HAPPEN NO!" I yell. I want to throw the book on the ground, why Veronica Roth WHYYY. I walk up the brick stairs leading to my house and twist the doorknob.
My dad is there waiting for me at the door, I am not surprised, he is ready to yell at me, like a tiger ready to catch is pray. "Hm.." He starts saying. "What are these pieces of trash?" He says gripping onto my book. "You need to be active, do something with your life, not spend your life with "these"." "GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK" he yells. "You have nothing to do with yourself, you are.. pointless." I run up the stairs not saying anything. Tears build up in my eyes, then they explode. He has never yelled at me like this, nobody under stands the greatness in books. I slam my door shut, knocking of my Hunger Games poster. I pick it up and pin it back to my wall, I stare at it for awhile. I think, and think, that this world is not made for Kayla Robertson~
Sorry for the short chapter again, thanks for your support! 😺
Chapter 3
"Another day of jail." I mumbled to myself. I stretched my arms into the air, and slowly climbed out of my bed. I stood for a moment, staring at my night stand, the book The Fault in Our Stars sat there. "Why can't Augustus be my husband." I groaned. I continued walking out of room to the carpeted stairs. I walked down slowly, not wanting to run into dad. My feet sticked onto the ground as I walked to the kitchen. There sat my breakfast, oatmeal, great.. On the side of the bowl, sat a note that read; "Had to leave work early, take a bus to school." What a wonderful morning.
Period 1 passed fast, faster than I expected. Period 2 and 3 did the same as well. What is up today? But Period 4 was as slow as yesterday, it was my break time. I climbed up the stairs that take me to the library. I sat down at one of the round, wood tables in the front, and pulled out Matched, a new book I was reading.
After a couple chapters in, I decided to take a little break. I strolled around the library, examining the books on the shelves. I have recognized some of them, I remember reading these books. I feel like a proud mother as I stroke their binding.
I reach the end of the book shelf, and I find a very old, worn book. I slowly pull the book out, and brush the dust away off of the cover. In faint, small letters the book's name is The One. "Hm, I will give this a try." I whispered to myself.
I sit back down at the library table
, and open up my discovery .
This book is surprisingly good, it had an amazing story line. Before I turned to chapter 13, a tiny piece of paper sat in between the 2 pages.
