⏩Chapter One

The overwhelming scent of freshly ground coffee filled the air as I walked into the Sabertooth Cafè, the only place that served high-quality beverages in Fiore.

My eyes drifted from each corner to another in order to find my best friend - Levy - who had invited me to discuss this weeks jaw dropping gossip as per usual. Since I had began my college life in Fiore, I met Levy (being the chat-a-holic she is) and we instantly clicked. Now, I find myself at our usual meeting place taking a seat on the far too comfy chairs just as Levy begins to smile bigger than before. I returned the gesture, "so, what's on today's Levy Broadcast?" I asked, causing a giggle to escape from both our mouths.

"Well... Fiore is opening a new cafe!" Levy squealed. I was quite suprised to say the least, considering Sabertooth was a rather high-end establishment and it would be difficult for someone to beat their coffee!

Speaking of which, I was parched. "Excuse me!" I called, causing a blonde haired boy to turn around and grin in my direction. He started to walk over whilst my best friend whispered something about how good looking he was. It was certainly safe to say that I was practically gawking at him; his jawline was so sharp, his shoulders were so broad and his face - his face was absolutely jaw-dropping. Then, he started speaking in his husky voice.

"So what can I get you, aside from your phone number?" the boy who's name tag read Sting winked in my direction as I stated my order with a smirk on my face.

As he walked away, Levy just stared at me with a massive blush on her face. "How can you even do that so calmly?!" she whisper-yelled. I just giggled and moved the conversation back to the new cafe - which I found out to be opening tomorrow. Suddenly, Levy's phone sounded and she looked down. Just before the blue-haired girl could make her escape, I stopped her in her tracks and got her to explain as I laughed at how bad my best friend was at hiding things.

"Has someone got..." I paused, standing up, "a BOYFRIEND?!" I shouted, embarrassing her to death because that's just what friends do.

"No! N-no, well - maybe! I hope?" Levy stuttered out as I pushed her towards the exit.

"Go get that boyfriend of yours! Be sure to text me everything!!"

I smiled to myself and went to go sit back down just as Sting served my coffee with a side of gingerbread. He looked around to a clock in which I hadn't ever noticed; despite my countless visits to the cafe. "...And it's the end of my shift, mind if I sit here?" he asked, a gleeful look on his face. I gradually sipped my warm coffee as the hours slipped away, talking to Sting was a great use of my time but eventually we ran out of it and I said my goodbyes, leaving with a number and a wave.

As I walked home down the dimly lit streets, crowded with passing cars of different makes and colours, I noticed a new building - an extremely new building compared to the rest. Despite looking seriously out of place, I hadn't noticed it before when I walked past. I shrugged off the thought and continued on my way home, still high off the glee from talking to Sting.

I took off my shoes upon entering my apartment and shook off my coat along with my bag. Placing my phone on the counter, I grabbed some fruit to eat as a snack and took a bite as I gazed out the window. I cheered inside my head as rain began to fall from the sky and I had just managed to escape it.

After finishing up, I ran a nice warm bath and decided to text Levy about her boyfriend.

Levy talked about going to the park and getting ice cream with her boyfriend - who's name I discovered to be Gajeel - which was very sweet yet made a pang of jealously apparent within me. I sighed aloud. The flowery scent of my bath running through the bathroom made me feel a sense of ease and I could finally relax. Tomorrow was a new day, a new day to see Sting and also, a brand new day to see the brand new cafe!
