Myshia (muh-shay-uh) Pov;

As I laid across my bed listening to Candy Rain by Soul For Real a text popped up on my phone.

Text from Dave: siri announced
"...Wassup?"

Contemplating on whether to text back I decided against it and tossed my phone to the side. Dave is someone from the past I was deeply in love with. We had our bumpy patch that ended things. Then soon after the "flexing" stage. And even a little of the argumentive stage where a couple names were called, but all in all he was/is my first love. It's been almost two years since we've talked. Wondering what he wanted I continued to stare at the message. "...Wassup" what does that mean 😕 I thought. Deciding to let it go and go out for some food I went into my closet sliding on some yoga pants and a black short sleeve shirt along with my puma slides. I grabbed my keys and my phone heading to my car. As soon as I opened the door another text came through.

Text from Dave: siri said once again
"So you really not gone text back. I know you're looking at your phone. That's all you do is play on that phone. Quit playing man"

Thinking about how he knew me so well I decided to text back.

Me:
"What 🙄?"

Staring at the message waiting for his chat bubbles to form indicating he was typing. They didn't for ten minutes. Rolling my eyes and getting into my car I blew out held in breathe. I should've known he'd text and not respond which was the usual for us. Pushing my thoughts to the side I connected my phone to the USB port and Apple CarPlay automatically connected. On my way to chick-fil-a I blasted Fire & Desire by Drake. I knew every word to this song so I sung along just vibing.

Dave Pov;
Staring at her text not surprised she text back I decided to play with her and not reply for a while. I continue to jog back to my apartment which was only two miles away from me and Myshia's favorite park. Before jogging back home I decided to stop at Chick-fil-a for a water. Quickly regretting walking in as soon as I saw that familiar shaped body. Her heart shaped tattoo on her foot and her slick baby hairs on the back of her neck. Every time I saw her my downstairs would start to rise. I slowly walked up behind her in the line and pretended to be on my phone. She'd just ordered what I used to buy her every time we'd come here. A ten count nugget, polynesian sauce, and a large strawberry shake. Continuing to look at my phone trying to slyly avoid her. She caught me off guard when she looked at me and just walked off after grabbing her food. Forgetting what I even came for I walked outside too late to try to talk to her. Hearing Boo'd Up by Elli Mai blast from her radio as she quickly pulled off confirmed how pissed off she was. That song brung back so many memories of nights I'd cheat and call her just for sex when another girl wouldn't give it up. I'd realized I broke her.
