Distant Lover

What is she saying?

I watch intently as small twinkles of light yellow light begin to appear on her dark face. The edges of her beautiful frame glow with the reaching rays of the sun. As the darkness of night takes over, more and more glittering light illuminates her more popular curves.

Every night I watch and listen for her to speak to me. I know she is trying to tell me something, and I can only hope it is that she feels as deeply for me as I her. She consumes my mind through day and night. The most mesmerizing creature I have ever witnessed, more than the moon and stars that decorate the heavens.

All day she dances for me, her waters rising and falling. Long tendrils of liquid twist and turn, finding their way to the ocean's expanse. Currents color her bright and deep shades of blue throughout her seductive entrapment. But only at night does she attempt to communicate her feelings for me.

Through the years I have watched her colors change through the seasons. And I have seen her skies swarm with tenderly created clouds that she blows across her skies. I used to think the spirals and storms were her calling out to me, but I was wrong. Now I know that those were the days she was weeping because I could not decipher her code, and it breaks my heart.

Only after the sun warms the other side of her smiling face does she shine for me. The majority of her lights are similar every night, but there are some that change. These are the shining treasures I search for to help me translate her message.

Day and night my shutter captures her beauty as I gaze upon her longingly. But one day I will succeed with the translation and we will talk of the days when she danced, the days she cried, and every day that I longed to speak with her. As for tonight I will study her messages and simply be by her side until I am successful in understanding my lover.
