BOOM!

A loud noise came from above you making you wake up from your deep sleep. You ignored it, rolled over and fell back to sleep.

BOOM!

Unfortunately, your sleep didn't last as long as you hoped. You sat up from the comfort of your warm bed and rubbed your tired eyes. Finally adjusting to the darkness of your room, you sat up and looked at your night stand, the alarm clock read 3:42

You laid back down and felt the warmth return to you. You waited a couple of seconds to see if more noise would come. When you didn't hear any thing, you forced your eyes closed.

BOOM!

Another loud noise came from upstairs again. Following it came voices, lots of them, but you couldn't make out the words they were saying.

"Ah, people must be moving in the apartment above me," you sighed, getting out of bed. As the sheets fell from your body, the feeling of the cold air made a shiver run down your spine.

'Maybe some milk will help make me feel sleepy,' you pondered as you scratched your head.

As you made your way toward the kitchen, you took the messy bun from earlier out and let the hair cascade down your back.

You could hear more voices and heavy footsteps above you. This time you could make out the conversation of two: one yelling at the for being too loud.

'How many people are moving in up there,' you thought to yourself.

You flicked the light on and opened a cabinet to grab a small glass from inside. Then, you went to the fridge and grabbed the milk carton. You poured the cold liquid into the glass and put it back.

You picked the glass up and put it close to your lips. However, before you could take a sip, there was a knock on your door. Sighing, you put the glass back down on the counter and made your way to the door.

You questioned who and why someone would be knocking this early on a Thursday morning.

You didn't really talk to your neighbors so crossed the possibility of it being them out. The only other person it could be would be one of the workers here.

You look through the peephole to see if your assumption was correct, but to your surprise, no one was there. You grabbed your key card and opened the door to look down the hallway, but once again no one was there.

"Maybe its a bunch of kids playing ding dong ditch or something," you commented to yourself.

You slammed your door shut, making a loud noise to let the kids know that you were annoyed and not messing around.

You wanted to go back to sleep. You were aggravated as it was with your new neighbors above you, you didn't need some bratty kids messing with you.

You hid out of sight from the hallway. You remained quiet, listening for any noise, indicating that the kids were back.

It has been a good amount of time and you wanted to go back inside. Not waiting another second, you faced the door ready to go in. Your were about to put the key card in the slot, until you heard a snort.

Stopping, you went back to the corner. The snorting began to happen more often. Soon the snorting became laughter. You could also hear someone saying shush multiple times.

You were gonna look down the hallway, but you could hear footsteps. They stopped and laughter, once again, erupted.

You took a small peek around the corner and noticed two grown men snickering together. One had light brown hair and the other had dark brown hair. The light brown haired one stopped laughing to catch his breath. He sighed and then looked directly at you, eyes wide once he realized you were there.

You peeked out more from the corner and furrowed your eyebrows at the two. They were adults playing ding dong ditch.

He slapped the other guys chest to make him look at you. The dark haired guy stopped laughing and looked at his friend confused. Then in your direction, following the others gaze. His eyes also widened and he began to run, dragging the other one with him, further away from you.

You didn't want to go after them because one you were tired, and two you were still confused about why two adults would play ding dong ditch.

Even though you didn't chase them, you saw they went to the elevators. You walked a little closer and noticed how the number went from floor number 4 to number 5, which meant they probably live on the floor above you.

You walked back to your apartment, realizing you had left a glass of milk out and that you should try to go back to sleep.

You unlocked the door and walked quietly back to the kitchen. Picking up the glass of milk, you started to drink it and felt a little bit sleepier.

You rinsed the glass and put it in the sink, proceeding to turning the light off and making your way back to bed.

Once in your bedroom, you thought your bed could have never looked so inviting before. You laid back down and heard multiple doors slam shut from upstairs.

You pulled the sheets and blanket over yourself and looked back at your alarm clock.

4:18

You wanted to enjoy the couple of hours you had left before you had to wake up for work. You closed your eyes and tried to let sleep overcome you for the last time.

You were nearly back to sleep for good this time, until a thought came to mind,

What if those two guys are the ones moving into the apartment above me?
